Learned so much very interested and very informative to a mom whohas two kids with ADHDAnd I have problems also

The children, primarily in the USA, are the guinea pigs, unfortunately, to unproven long term effects of prescriptions used in the treatment of ADHD. This book brings facts to light that anyone who is touched by "adhd" would benefit from reading.

Not what I was looking for, but it was educational and worth the price.It made some points I already knew and confirmed, but gave me some information to follow up on and ideas to explore.I can't say I loved the book but it definitely helped.

This book helped me learn some new things about A.D.H.D. It is a challenge living with the disease. I read the book and ended up selling it at a yard sale.

This book offers a genuine attempt at caring for children with ADHD and addressing why their behavioural issues are occurring and how to alleviate the root issues rather than drugging the child into docility. The sections discussing corresponding problems with the American education and healthcare system and herbal remedies were excellent but unfortunately the chapter on nutrition was dated in comparison to modern research into ADHD and nutrition/eating disorder behaviours.Chapter four eliminates a whole slew of carbohydrates from the diet as unhealthy, even though carbs are necessary for brain function and thus I would imagine that they would be more helpful in being consumed by a child with ADHD than being ignored (again, outdated information). It promotes many diets and dietary fads that could alleviate symptoms and both chapter four and six discuss eliminating entire food groups and foods which the child has sensory issues with.Encouraging these behaviors directly corresponds to the rise of deadly eating disorders amongst people with ADHD. Lovevthos book and it ahould be part in every household who has children.

In a world that believes in taking a pill for every thing that ills you, it is nice to have a resource that looks at the whole child. Both my son's counselor and psychologist were very impressed with this book.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This book is kindling. It is insulting to parents who have ADHD children. I thought maybe this book would give ideas on how to help treat children with ADHD with some good ideas. If you think you child will ingest tinctures of skullcap and wood betony, drink calming teas, and use herb pilllows, then this is the book for you. I’m wondering if these authors have even met children. The other half of the book talks about the ADHD epidemic and the conspiracy theory’s of big pharma and doctors here in the US. Because apparently, we are the only country that has ADHD. All the while insulting parents on a made up disorder telling us what sheep we are.What crap this is. Waste of money. Not even sure this book deserves to be recycled.
