Great hiking chair
I took this hiking this past weekend. I am reviewing this as a hiking/camping chair not a travel chair for concerts or the beach or something of that nature although it would be good for that. It would also make a great kids video game chair if you have way too much money and are fairly irresponsible with it. Also, If you are an ounce counter, this review is not for you. If you try to balance weight and comfort, keep reading. The poles are sturdier than tent poles. They are a little wider and a little thicker and they are all corded together which seems like a mess at first. What I started doing was taking them out and grabbing one pole and shaking it a little bit and most of them just pop into place where they need to be. You can have this chair up in less than 30 seconds. As other reviewers noted, it does sit low to the ground. I thought this was a feature not a detractor. I was able to stretch my legs out and relax which was great. It does make it a little harder to get in and out of but once you are there you don't want to get out of it anyway. If mobility is an issue for you though, this chair might not be the best choice for you but, you probably are also not hiking 15 miles into the backwoods anyway. The chair is also sturdy feeling and I was able to rock in it a little bit. Other chairs like this that I have sat in feel like they are going to fall over even on the hardest of ground. This chair is fine even on soft sand and slight inclines or declines. So why four stars instead of five? Two things:1. I have wide shoulders. The upper poles slide into my armpits when I sit in the chair regularly. It is not overly uncomfortable and easily fixed by slightly adjusting my position but, it is a little annoying. Most people are not going to have this problem. My girlfriend thinks it is great. Even if they made a wider one, I would pick this for the weight savings.2. No head rest. This would make the chair perfect (5 stars). Although, I might die of starvation in the forest if it did have a headrest. A camp pillow and a tree readily fix this non-issue.So in summary, this is the lightest, sturdiest, most terrain versatile, comfortable hiking chair on the market right at the moment. It has a good balance of features and weight. After a long day of hiking, you wont be regretting that you carried this with you.

Great chair, great design, light weight and very comfortable.
One of my backpacking friends purchased the Alite Mayfly and I really liked it, but finally decided on the Helinox. Glad I did. The Mayfly's seat touches the ground after you sit in it for 30 min or so and both my friend and I are 170 lbs or less. The Helinox sits a little higher off the ground. Also, another friend has an REI chair that is similar to the other Helinox chair that has 4 individual legs (not the bar across the bottom like this one). The good part about that one is that it is even higher off the ground making getting in & out of it easier, but the cons are that if you are on soft ground or partially muddy ground, the legs will sink in until you fall over. You have to put pieces of bark or rock under the single point legs for stabilization. Overall, if you are older or have a hard time getting up from low places, go with a taller chair like the Helinox chair elite. If that's not an issue, I'd go with this ground chair. Great chair, great design, light weight and very comfortable.

Perfect!!!
These chairs were so beyond amazing!! They made our 2 week boundary waters trip even better!!! Super comfortable and extremely lightweight. My husband initially thought they were ridiculously expensive for 2 little chairs until we were on our trip and everyday he was saying how worth it the chairs were Hahahaa We love them!! So much better than sitting on a log. When we were back in civilization there was a heavy set man that said he was too big for it and I had him sit in it and he thought it was amazing too!! We did have to help him get out of it because they are very low to the ground which I don't mind being very short and my husband doesn't mind and he is 6'2 but I could imagine it being a little trickier for some people.

Expensive but worth it.
I have long carried a beach chair with me while backpacking. It looked ridiculous but after a long day hiking the lightweight aluminum chairs were a god send. That was until I tried the Helinox chair. It fits in my pack, is very sturdy and very light and small. super comfortable and I think my friends are going to buy one as well. One discrepancy. It says weight is 210KG or 265lbs. I think somebody mathed wrong. I am about 200lbs or 90KG and it held my weight fine. I don't think a 210kg person would fit. Even 265lbs would be tight.

Was hoping for a comfortable spot to rest after a long day cycling
Used this chair on a supported week long ride. Was hoping for a comfortable spot to rest after a long day cycling. The chair sits low to the ground and be advised it can be difficult to get in and out of. I am sure my fellow campers got quite a laugh each time I got up and down as it was a struggle. But once in the chair it was comfortable. Note--Not sure how someone who is very tall would do in this chair. I am only 5'1''.

Love this chair
I got this chair last year so I’ve used t for a while. It’s really tight to put it together when it’s new but as you use the chair it flexes more and it’s much easier to put together. I’m a photographer and use it at times when I’m in the field for a long day waiting for the right light or some birds or ducks to forget I’m there, or when I’m doing macro in the forest or my own garden. Handy, light, comfortable- I leave it in my car and always have it near. Expensive but very high quality.

Great, light chair, but can be awkward to get in and out of
This is the first chair I've ever bought to bring along while backpacking. I'm not an ounce counter by any means, but the most compelling factor for me when choosing the Ground Chair was its light weight. It's easy to set up, and easy to break down and pack away. My chief complaint is that it was often really awkward to get in and out of, and I'm a pretty spry guy. It's just so low. That being said, once I was in it, and on solid ground, it was fantastic to have. I did find myself regularly wondering their taller chair option would have been worth the extra ounces in comfort, though.
