Discover your own best way of taking this and then it's great
My initial reaction when I first tried this was, uh-oh, I can't continue taking this. After reading reviews about putting it in coffee or smoothies, I started off with it in my beloved morning coffee and it ruined it. Next, I tried it in a fruit smoothie and ruined that. The fish taste and smell was overwhelming to me in those delivery systems. I actually started dreading taking it until I just mixed it in plain old water with or without a splash of lemon. It's certainly tolerable when you aren't expecting it to be totally tasteless as other reviewers have said. It does not have an extremely strong fish odor and flavor---it just seems to be enhanced in the wrong medium, and for me, that is something sweet. Fish just doesn't seem to mix well with sugar or even unsweetened coffee with milk. However, If I want to completely disguise it, I've learned to put it in something savory where there is no taste competition. It's undetectable in most soups or broth. I think the product is excellent; a very fine powder that dissolves pretty easily in warm liquid. I'd actually be wary if it had absolutely no taste and odor. To get to "none" would probably entail more processing than I would desire. So, bottom line, I think this is a good product at a decent price from a good company, but we're all different and have to find our own best ways of taking this product.

Good product and easy to use and a keeper
I purchase this product to help with strengthening my hair, nails, and etc. I have had it for almost a month now and I can slightly see the difference. My nails are much stronger. The taste is fine. I did not see any fishy taste as others have complained about and it mixes well with my whey protein from BS. NOTE: I highly recommend transferring the powder to quart size mason jars for easy use. Otherwise it will get all over the place. I usually put a scoop (from my past protein powder jugs) of collagen in my smoothie in the morning and mix it with the BS whey powder, 2 cups of fresh bag spinach (frozen), some berries, etc., and unsweetened almond milk. I am good for the day and it has my vitamin C, A, and collagen for the day.

Great quality!
So yes, this marine collagen is a little stinkier than collagen from other animals, but it is supposedly easier for your body to absorb. However, I did not notice any taste when I mix this into my protein shake. What I did was buy bags of bovine, chicken, and marine collagen all from this brand. Then I mixed them in a 2:1:1 ratio (2=bovine) to create a collagen mix in order to get all forms of collagen at once. I then mix 20g of this into my protein shake. This is a lot cheaper than buying the pre-mixed multi collagen.

Mine is either spoiled or this stuff REALLY stinks!!!!
I read so many reviews that stated this product does not smell so I ordered it and I received it in two-days (which is today). When I opened the envelope, I gagged! It smells AWFUL but I was determines to give it a try so I put it in a glass, added room temp water and stirred, stirred, stirred but it never dissolved completely. I had clumps of stinky powder floating in the glass. I drank it anyway, lumps and all. I was grateful it had no taste. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep this — the smell is just disgusting and I don’t drink coffee so I won’t be putting it into anything hot plus it’s already 90+ degrees where I live.If I can’t make myself try it again tonight, I’ll be returning it tomorrow!!! I was really looking forward to adding Bulk Supplements’ collagen to my daily supplements routine but the smell is just too foul for me to roll with — so disappointing!!!!

Can't taste 2 teaspoons in my smoothie - dissolved perfectly even in icy conditions.
I am giving this 5 stars to keep the rating the same; I will use this for a while and update my review as needed. I generally do this with a lot of products - things can turn out much better or worse than I originally rated them.I knew I wouldn't be able to choke down any beverage with even a hint of fish in it (although I will try it later in a vegetable broth and update with that result) so I added two teaspoons to my smoothie tonight as a test.My smoothie is simple: 1 c almond milk, 1 c spinach, and 1/4 each of frozen blueberries and frozen mixed berries, along with a couple ice cubes. I tasted it, then added two level teaspoons of the collagen. I could detect a hint of *something* but it wasn't bad, and I think really it was the combo of the collagen and almond milk that I didn't care for. I then remembered to add a tablespoon of lemon juice and voila, it was perfect. Zero collagen taste, and the lemon trick works really well in fruit smoothies to counter the lingering almond milk taste and I believe it works on the faint fish taste. (I don't like it in a smoothie, only in cereal.)Thankfully it also works with fish collagen! I will try to dissolve a serving in hot water and throw it into a cup of cold water with a generous squirt of lemon and see if the lemon works well enough to drink this stuff down plain.Honestly the very faint fish taste isn't enough for me not to use it. I don't eat beef or pork so 99% of collagen on the market is out for me. I was super happy to see this and have read in two studies that fish collagen is more bioavailable.I'm taking it because I cut out meat almost entirely - I have maybe 4 ounces of chicken 3x a month and in the past when I did this my nails broke, my hair got scraggly, and I ended up going back to eating it. Beans and tofu and tempeh are great, but I don't think they're giving me everything my body needs, and I hope the collagen will take care of that.I also hope to get a bit of relief for pain from walking 10,000 to 16,000 steps a day 5x a week at work, in shoes that aren't made for walking that much. I will update either way in a few months.
