Columbia Women's Ventastic II Trail Shoe

I really love the look of these shoes, but they do run half a size small. They were ok for walking on carpet, but you do not buy trail shoes to walk on carpet. I tested them out on a trail behind my house and going up-hill they fit great. My feet would slide to the back of the shoes, giving me extra room in the front. The problem started when I started my hike downhill. My feet would slide towards the front of the shoe, creating a painful sensation in my toes. I know if I had continued on my hike I would have jeopardized my toe nails, something I was not willing to do. I would definitely recommend ordering half a size up if you are going to use them for hiking on trails.WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THESE SHOES• Attractive• Not narrow like some other hiking shoes I have tried• Great ventilationWHAT I DO NOT LIKE AS MUCH• Runs smallI purchased these during Amazon's prime day special sale. It was a great price, but unfortunately they do not perform as I had hoped.

I purchased these shoes to hike in Zion NP (specifically for the subway and narrows hike, which are both almost entirely in water). I was worried to step into the water at first, because these shoes felt more like athletic sneakers than water shoes, and I was worried about how they would drain. When I finally got into the water, I was so happy to have made this purchase. They were comfortable, and their construction did not allow small rocks to get in. When we would exit the water onto a trail, my friends commented they could see the water quickly draining from the shoes. In addition to the drainage from below the sole (the sole has many holes in it to help with this process), the water quickly drained from the toe box and sides. I paired these shoes with a pair of mud gear socks and went over 10 miles in the water without a single blister. By the end of the day, after 10 miles of hiking, my feet did hurt, but I'm not sure if that was due to the shoe construction or the difficulty of the hike (which included scrambling and bouldering). I honestly believe having these shoes made the hike significantly better!

I wear 11.5 US so ordered 12's. They felt more like large 12s when I tried them on but didn't have time to order another pair. Turns out that was a godsend for steeper downhill as my toes didn't jam into the ends.The ONLY reason I gave this 4 vs 5 stars is that sand gets caught in parts of the shoe (the drain holes and heel) when rinsed, the grip wasn't as strong as hoped (better than sneaks but a mix of waves and cleats would be better), and I wish they'd made an Achilles cut out. Otherwise it was super comfortable, dried quickly (quicker than some clithes while in Costa Rica), and had better than tennis shoe grip, the removable souls really help with drying, good support. I wore this shoe on a trail that was mostly walking up a river and even in the jungle they dried enough by the next day that with socks I barely noticed. Lots of jealous fellow travellers.

A few people have said these run small, but I found them to be true to size. They also break in very quickly. I first wore these hiking a trail in a desert environment. I had very minimal sand & no small rocks in my shoes as usually would happen. They have great traction & seem like they'll drain water easily. Of course the color & style are icing on the cake!

Great fitting shoe and so lightweight . They will be perfect for summertime hiking with the breathable mesh sides and yet so sturdy.Karen Flinchum

I have a narrow foot so I new they would be wide but that is Ok because my feet swell

These ran 1/2 size too small. Generally with hiking shoes they should have extra room in the toes, so when your walking down an inline your toes doesn't smash into the shoes. These run small which doesn't allow for that extra room.

Toller Schuh. Sehr bequem sieht gut aus, und hat eine super Sohle. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.Ist schon mein Zweiter von dieser Marke.
