Q: I need the instructions on how you install a new wire.

First remove the pieces of the old wire. Unscrew the handle and clean all the parts. Loop one end of the wire around the metal "" shaped device. Pull the other end into the groove in the round device on the end of the shaped device--- the end that had the handle screwed into it. Place the threaded part of the handle through the loop and rotate the handle until the wire is taut. Screw the handle down onto the metal "" shaped device maintain the tension until the handle is firm in place. Buy some good wine and cheese...Enjoy.

Q: Just to make sure this is for 4 pkgs of wires with 4 wires in each pack??

All I see here is 1 pack of 4 wires. Not 4 packs of 4 wires. If you ordered this product, would you verify what you received, 4 or 16 wires in total? Thanks.

Q: how do you replace the wire?

Q: What is the wire gauge?

I have no idea. We got tired of ordering wires to fit the cheese slicer we had, and these were the wrong size too. So we just ordered a new slicer. Seems to be a flaw in why manufacturers don't tell you what gauge wires to buy as replacements.
