ActiveGuard Mattress Liner Bed Bug (Queen)

Dood yes. I cannot even begin to describe the magnitude at which this thing is appreciated. We ended up with freaking bed bugs in my house after a sleepover my kids had because OF COURSE WE FREAKING DID.And they ended up just hanging in my room because they heard it’s the cool place to party.7 months later in the dead of winter, we are still getting occasional bites. In my room, not my kids room.I had sprayed my mattress, under the mattress, the carpets… but no. Still the bites here and there and everywhere.Plus the nasty little buggers would show their faces when they were feeling particularly audacious.So I took the shot and bought this thing and I have had several days of no bites! None. Zero. Zilch.I have not seen one of those ugly little tyrants either. They’ve gone back to hell where they belong.

I used the fitted sheet and a mattress encasement with a zipper for both the box spring and mattress. Since then, I was bitten once. I changed my sheets and saw two crawling on top of my mattress cover. This product does help a lot but doesn't solve the problem completely.

So let’s start with what it isn’t. It isn’t an encasement, it’s a fitted sheet. It doesn’t keep out bed bugs. It’s allows them to move freely as it is impregnated with an insecticide. When used in accordance with the label you will get excellent prevention and when used in tandem with a professional treatment you can get complete elimination of an active infestation.Keep in mind the biology of bed bugs. They may be in adjacent rooms or in other areas you may spend extended time like your couch, car, or work chair. If you expect this to be a standalone treatment for bed bugs then you’re wrong. If you’re looking for preventative control for about 2 years then you are in luck. I bought this mattress liner on 7/10/2017 (8 months ago) as recommended by my pest control specialist after he sprayed the apartment and furniture.Now in February I am starting to get bites again. I was overjoyed to live without being eaten in my sleep, but am disappointed that this liner didn't hold up to the "Long lasting - kills dust mites and keeps bedding clear for up to two (2) years" advertisement. Also I can't tell if the mattress liner or pesticide spray gets credit for keeping them away for the 8 months.This mattress liner is $140 cheaper than the next available option (which seems a little suspect), but I intend to purchase again and hopefully get a more honest liner.

Active guard was placed on both the box spring 17 days ago and mattress 5 days ago, the latter as insurance. The Active Guard was recommended by our "Bug man", who uses nontoxic materials to combat insects and was employed by DOD in Afghanistan. We have not seen any evidence of the bugs in the last seven days. The active ingredients is permethrin, which has very low toxicity to humans.

Not Sure hoe effective ti is.

Works immediately. Amazing!! No more bed bugs (or little monsters as I call them).

Thought it would have a zipper but time will tell if it does the job....seems okay!received item quickly and bit expensive but hopefully worth it!
