Allstar Innovations BaconBoss Microwave Bacon Cooker for Healthier, Crispy Bacon

I made bacon this morning with the BaconBoss. It came out perfect. I watched several reviews of this product. Most were negative for one reason or another. I have an 1100 watt microwave. I cooked five pieces of bacon for five minutes. It came out crisp just the way I like it. The grease separated from the bacon as it was supposed to.I am very happy with the product.

This is the most substantial Microwave Bacon Cooker I have ever used. The part plastic, part tempered glass Bacon Cooker can be put in the oven at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. That is tough for something that is partially made of plastic. It is simple to use. Put the bacon on the tray except on the grease well (the area where the excess grease flows into during cooking) and screw down the glass lid by turning the top handle/ knob 180 degrees. This presses the bacon flat for even cooking. I have attached pictures of the bacon in the Bacon Boss at the point of where it is pressed, where it is partially cooked and finally, of me holding a piece of perfectly cooked bacon. If you follow directions, the Bacon Boss does a fantastic job. You microwave one minute per slice, adding time if your microwave isn't 1100 watts. This is initially done in 30 second intervals until you figure out the perfect timing. Once you figure it out, you may need to add 30 seconds of time anyway the factors being whether you are following a batch of bacon or just starting out. My bacon is extremely lean so I make two batches before doing any grease removal. For most people the grease will need to be poured off each time.If there is a disadvantage to this cooker, it is the fact that I can do only three slices at a time. Of course, few people use bacon slices as large as mine. The time is less than most other microwave Bacon Cookers because the compressing glass decreases cooking time. I really don't think the design can be changed to accommodate more bacon since the tray is as large as a tray can be and still sit and rotate on a microwave turntable. Personally, I prefer the quality it produces over the quantity other Bacon Cookers produce. It's your call.

What a disappointment. You can only put 4-5 pieces of bacon on the surface. Its not wide enough so the bacon laps over the side. To cook 4 slices of bacon it took me 8 minutes and it still wasn't cooked properly. The bacon stuck to the surface and was impossible to get off without ripping it to shreds. The bacon fat that accumulated in the channel at the bottom of the tray boiled over and splattered all over the inside of the microwave oven. Cleaning the plate is especially hard because you had to scrape the pieces of bacon off it first. Its big, heavy, bulky and doesnt cook bacon anywhere near how they claim it would. I made 4 pieces of bacon this morning in my non stick pan on the stove...it took half the time, the bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly. A quick rinse in the sink and the pan was ready to use again. I threw the bacon boss in the garbage....stick to your fry pan!

I've already notices a crack in the base wall.I know I didnt 'crank' it down as it feels like you must.I've used it in both the oven & microwave & it does work.However,my hubs buys the really thick bacon & it wont work on that.I purchased this item,because my husband is very sloppy with not cleaning up the grease when he cooks bacon on the stovetop.My oven isnt as pristine as I'd like,as the grease spatters there just as much if not worse.In the microwave,it will still spatter as,when you do turn the top down,there's still a slight gap between the walls.I do like the idea,but again as with most other products ,the clean up isnt that easy & of course,this isnt for larger quantities. Product does work as expected.

This really works! If you have a little OCD and hate uncooked areas of bacon, this product is for you. I always order bacon "well done" in restaurants because it is never cooked to my liking. I'd rather have burnt bacon then uncooked bacon. At home I hold down the bacon with a potato masher, but this product works better than that. It may take a few times to get the microwave cooking time exact but it's worth the effort. I haven't tried it in the oven yet. Also, I used organic bacon which seems to be a little longer than other bacon. I just curved it and it worked fine. I would buy this as a gift for friend who feel the same.

As with many other things, the product does not match the hype. The bacon looks nice when cooked but I had to move it around in order to get all of the bacon to cook. It did not cook evenly. However, I did like the fact that the bacon came out pretty flat.The grease drains well but because the base is slanted to encourage drainage, it causes uneven cooking.Also, I don't find it easy to clean.

Updated: Added pictures of the process and why I can't understand why some people say it doesn't work.Panasonic 1250Watt Microwave that is about 6 years old so I'm sure the power has decreased.5 strips of bacon cooked at 70% power for 8.5 minutes - crispy and very tasty2 strips of bacon cooked at 100% power for 2.5 minutes - cooked but a bit more chewy than the slower cooked baconNo shrinkage of the bacon and it's very flat so more bites per piece.I strongly recommend this product to anyone who likes to cook bacon and needs to have it done the easy way. it's very easy to dump the grease into your grease container.I paid full price and was not compensated for this review. Have not used it enough to really judge whether we will use it or not. It does reduce the cleaning of the stove, which is the principle reason we got it. But we have not figured out how to consistently get crisp, tasty bacon with its use. Another problem we have with it is clamping down the bacon...We think it clamps down to much which makes the bacon tough.

Cooks well, but does not have room for enough bacon. Only 4 slices at a time unless you overlap (which they do not recommend).

Pour le bacon évidemment mais le couvert est tellement vissé serré que ça donne des tranches de bacon complètement aplatie. Je n'aime pas ça et....je n'ai plus la boîte.
