How quiet are the wheels when pulling?

We use them on our sailboat, they are not right next to us. They seem quiet enough.

Do these fit 1/2 inch braided lines?

These pulleys are intended for up to 1/2-inch kernmantle type braided lines (not twist braids.) Our technical rescue team has had good experiences with them over several years. Just remember that these load-force ratings are the sum totals of the loads on both sides of the pulley (i.e., lifting a 1,000 lb. load by pulling with 1,000 lbs. of force, there will be a total force-load of 2,000 lbs. total on the pulley.) A 30 KN pulley can handle around 6,700 force pounds before it fails, or a load of 3,350 with an equal pulling force on the haul side of the pulley. Just be sure to stay well below the force-load limit of any pulley.

is this for 2 pulleys?

It clearly says “2 pieces”! However, this is not what I bought. When I bought mine, it was a single dual pulley for about half this price.

I like the aluminum construction--there are no plastic parts and nothing to rust. The cost was about the same as another that used a non-metal wheel. I use it on a 1/2" rope on a dog run that spans my 40ft deep back yard. My dog weights about 50lbs. The dog gets going pretty quickly and stops abruptly when the rope runs out. My plastic pully lasted over a year. I'm hopeful this pulley will last longer. I'll report back when I know more about how it performs over time.
