God made a dog!
Another well written story. The descriptions of the weather conditions on the water gave beauty and reality for all novices

Great for Father and Son reading time
I purchased this for my husband to read to our 8 year old shark obsessed son. Originally, my husband wasn’t too sure about it. Son is huge fan of “classroom shenanigan” books like Wayside School. I was hoping that his favorite topic, sharks, might introduce him to action, adventure and mystery.By day 3 (about chapter 3), Son was sold. It took a couple more chapters for Husband to get invested. Tonight, they finished the book. They both enjoyed it. Son hopes that there is a Fins 2 and special requested I keep my eyes out.Our son is an “on level” reader. Just finished second grade, capable of reading at a 4th grade level, but more comfortable with books around a third grade level. He would not have been able to read this book on his own. He would have struggled with sounding out enough words in the first few chapters that he would not have wanted to continue. When I found out about this book, I knew this was not a read alone book for us.It’s hard to find books for my 8 year old son and my husband. This book managed to catch the attention of both of them.

GREAT READ FOR MIDDLE GRADE READERS!!!
And adult fans of Randy Wayne White's "Doc Ford" series as well! I'm not a middle grader and have read every single book in the Doc Ford series but when I saw this new title for middle graders, I thought, let's give it a try. It's a wonderful read for folks younger than me but I thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed visiting some of the characters I know so well from the Doc Ford series, while waiting for Mr. White's next novel to come out. This is not only a wonderful story for young people but it also teaches them at the same time about friendship, growing up, and marine life! :) I hope there are more of these books to come! Just wish I knew some young people to share them with.....

Another one of his books that will keep you up at nght reading!
I pasted this on the FB page and thought I should share it here as well for all who care to read this review, however brief it man be. Have read all of Mr. Whites Doc Ford and Hannah Smith and non-fiction books. So I am not the most impartial reviewer. I am currently a few pages into Fins.. here are my thoughts...Woo Hoo!! Fantastic reading something different by one of my very favorite authors. Boy can he write! Just a pleasure reading his work and so extra special to have a smile on my face reading something wonderful in this unusual time we are living in. Kind thanks Mr. White. Highly recommed this book to anyone who appreciates well written fiction - by one of the most engaging masters of the craft. Time well spent!

Amazing Book! Fun, all the way to the end!
White’s description of Florida island life is realistic and fun! My eight year old daughter and I loved the book! She and I can’t wait to visit Florida and find some of the things and places in the book. This book was an amazing way to learn about Florida’s geography and environment.

a great fish tale
A fun, exciting fish tale about kids who are brave, and dumb sometimes, and heroes. Fun for adults and children!
