Can I use an automobile inline fuse?

That would be acceptable, but keep in mind that this fuse holder is rated to be out in the elements and is water proof, so if the fuse your installing will be in those conditions I would recommend going with this unit. I plan on using this fuse ...is there a short cable I need since my positive from the panels plug into this...acable from the fuse to the controller ?

You should not need another cable. It is an in- line fuse. Should hook in from panel to controller.

If the “renogy 30a male and female“ couldn’t not be connected on the outside end of the positive ,could a 30a set w holder anl fuse be used instea?
