Ringke Onyx Case Designed for iPhone 7/8 / SE 2020 (4.7-Inch) - Black

The media could not be loaded.  This Ringke black Onyx case fits the iPhone 7 perfectly. This is a one-piece case that feels like a rubberized-plastic. It is stiffer than a silicon-rubber type case, but softer than a hard-plastic case. The back surface does not scratch easily (I was not able to scratch it with my fingernails). I am more than impressed by the fit and finish. This case has hard, textured edges that allow your fingers to grip much better than the round edges of most other cases. I was looking for a case that would provide a good grip while holding and typing with one hand. This meets this need! I am impressed by the design on the back as it is unique, classy and functional. As you can see from the images, the back looks like it has a floating 'brushed metal' plate surrounded by carbon fiber. I don't know how they did this with the mold as this is all one type of material. The precision of the details are top-notch. The cutout around the camera and flash are a perfect fit. The buttons work very well and feel quite sturdy. The raised edges on the front are a good height that protects the phone very well when placed face down. The overall thickness of the case is not as slim as the Apple leather cases, but is not as thick as the heavily armored cases.

I got my iPhone 7 over the weekend and have been terrified of dropping it ever since, the phone is very slippery and a bit larger to hold securely. So glad that this case finally arrived.The case looks really nice, much better in person than it did in the photos, it's always nice when your expectations were exceeded.When buying a case I look for a few attributes:* Screen lip For me, I'll never buy a case without a lip. This case has a lip that is just deep enough to give some distance between the screen and the ground if it falls face down. It's deep enough for a glass protector to fit while still giving some distance when face-down.* Grip The phone without a case is quite slippery and hard to hold on to. I had it slip a few times in just a few short days, luckily without a drop. This case is very easy to grip onto with nicely textured sides, feeling much more secure in my hand. I also like cases with enough friction that when I lean the phone against something it stays standing upright and doesn't slide on the table and fall flat, which this case does well.* Easy to remove This is the weakest point for this case, for me. The case is a tight fit and requires a little bit of effort to install and remove (not much, but it's not trivial either) I like cases that I can slip off with little effort with one hand as it allows me to remove the case while driving w/ the GPS, which makes phones get hot. For this reason I'll probably keep my eye out for another case over the next few months, but the case is otherwise so nice that I'm definitely in no rush to find another.* Easy to push buttons The buttons are very easy to operate with this case installed. You still get a nice tactile feedback through the case and there's no need for excess force to operate the buttons.* Easy to access silent switch Clearly it's harder to access than without a case, but I can still operate the switch even with closely clipped fingernails.* Port cutoutsThe ports are nicely cut and perfectly match the phone. The camera cutout is exact, and in my minimal testing doesn't seem to cause any shadowing or backscattering of the flash. The charging port is nice and big and should be able to accept most cables.Overall I'm extremely impressed that this is so nice for such a low priced case. The ONLY negative bit is that one corner has a tiny bubble where the plastic didn't release from the mold correctly or something, but it's extremely minor and inconsequential (see pictures) so I don't really care. I suspect that the majority of the cases won't suffer from this minor blemish.

Got this for my new iPhone SE 2020. It fits like a glove. Looks much higher-end than I expected. From the front, it looks like a regular plain black protective phone case—the edges add slight bulk to give protection in a drop. The finish of the front is matte black. But the back is very sleek and stylish-looking with a brushed pattern that is attractive. The back has a slight sheen to it in the light. The sides/edges have little diagonal marks that are also nice-looking and matte black. The case is rubbery and relatively rigid. It does look like it provides a good amount of protection in a fall. This case is a nice middle-of-the-road compromise between the very slim minimalist ones that don’t provide much protection and the chunky bulky Otterbox style cases. I am pleased with this phone case and I do recommend it. The case is a little slippery on the back as other reviews have stated but I put a ring type holder on the back so I have something to hold onto since my hands aren’t great, and it’s been fine. Plus the sides of the case have a textured pattern which allows for some grip. The bumpers in the front don’t come up as much as I had hoped (the edges are JUST a tiny bit raised from the phone screen) but so far it hasn’t been an issue, but then again I haven’t dropped my phone. The price was good though and the case looks really nice so I don’t mind, however I’m still looking for a phone that doesn’t look like a clunky mess that has more of a raised lip on the front to protect the screen.

As the designated phone care taker for my family, I'm in charge of buying and installing their screen protectors and choosing the right case for them. My brother had chosen his cases in the past and as opted to style his iPhone with various cheap cases that he purchased due to the design on the back. After breaking another cheap plastic case which also damaged his phone, he finally asked me to choose one for him for his new iPhone. I chose this Ringke case. My favorite case on my favorite phone was a Ringke case, so I knew I could trust this brand.It was thin, minimal, and had enough cushion to protect my brother's phone from my brother! The edges are a bit angled, which make it amazing to hold in hand! I was not expecting this, but it was a great addition to this case. The design on the back is simple yet aesthetically pleasing for anyone's taste. I'm very happy with this purchase, and so is my brother. He is used to changing his phone case every few months because they don't last him long, but I'm confident that this is his first and last case for his new iPhone.

Case has a beautiful design, with the brushed aluminum and carbon fiber accent on the back, and quite slim. Quality of the case seems to be good too, it is very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap. Buttons are also responsive and easy to click. Finally, when looking at the price, this case is inexpensive compared to other cases and I would say has better quality than some of the more expensive ones. Well done on this one Ringke!

I had not heard of the Ringke brand before I saw this case being used by someone else. Was delivered promptly upon ordering. The case is extremely sturdy and comfortable to hold. It fit the iPhone 7 perfectly. The black case is sleek and stylish. The purple one is pretty good looking as well. Worth buying.

Wanted a hard case to protect my phone from clumsiness, but didn't want the case to add too much weight or thickness (like an Otter Box). Needless to say, this doesn't seem to be as sturdy as an Otter, but it's a nice happy medium. It's strong and fits well, but I'm sure I couldn't take a hammer to it. (Not that I'd want to.) Keeps the phone light and slim, but with protection. Good deal.

Great phone case. Protects the phone very well, the lips are raised. Grip on the sides is perfect, no more phone drops. Backside is rugged which gives additional grip. Overall looks good. Go for it with no doubts!
