MacBook MicroSD Memory Card Adapter for MacBook Air/Pro 13 inch White with Silver Edge Mini Drive for Storage Expansion or Backup

Great for this price point. Ordered two, works well with my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), but not for the MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2015).So note that this does not suit all MacBooks.For the MacBook Air the adapter bit sinks flush into the device leaving only the curved edge to unmount the adapter physically. Does the job with a 128 micro SD. No problems so far.

I bought this micro SD card adapter for my XPS 15 (9560). It looked good in the laptop and worked good while it was in the laptop. However, when I try to take it out, it would not come out no matter what I did. I got it out by sliding in a thin plastic sheet (cut to same shape as the SD card, see photo) under the adapter to depress the metal contact pins that might be preventing the card from sliding out. And, I was right. This plastic allowed me to get the adapter out, but when I looked inside of the SD card slot all the pins were bent. This adapter damaged my computer.After studying the adapter, I realized that the adapter was made so cheaply that the metal contacts on the adapter got depressed beyond the limit and caused the pins to get stuck by the plastic frame of the adapter. See photo. Now I am waiting to get the laptop fixed.I think I read similar review before talking about stuck adapter in their laptop. I do not recommend this product to anyone. Why take chances with your expansive laptop.

It worked just fine for the purpose of extra storage in my 2015 MacBook Air. I used a 32gb Sandisk MicroSD in it and have had no issues whatsoever! It fits perfectly in the slot and is just about the right shade of silver to match the exterior of the MacBook. This product has had mixed reviews, but I would say for $7.50 and Amazons great return policy that it is worth the supposed gamble! Try it out and if it doesn't work, send it back and move up a few more dollars to a more expensive option as you often to get what you pay for with these things :)

At first, the card showed up as write-protected however we found a simple fix: when inserting the card, make sure the right edge of the card is against the right side of the slot, then this adapter works as expected--can read and write to the card. (When inserting the left edge of the card on the far left side of the slot of our Mac Air SD reader, the card is write protected). Overall (aside from the initial write protection scare which we were able to resolve/fix (almost returned the adapter)) the adapter works super great, it looks perfect, flush on our Mac Air. woo hoo!

While I can use other MicroSD adapters for my Mac the problem with those is they stick out from the unit. Worried that while moving from one workspace area to another that a cord may snag on the exposed adapter I looked for a streamlined alternative. I'm pleased that this piece not only matches the Mac but fits nice and secure while allowing me to swap out a MicroSD for files as needed. Also for the price, it's a cost effective solution for peace of mind at avoiding a potential issue of the other style adapter breaking inside the slot.

Tried it with a 256 gb SD card. Did not recognize the card. Most it would take was 64gb.The design is ok (The baseqi adapter lies flush to the case and this one definitely bows out)

Got this mostly to plug the SD slot on the laptop. Fits pretty flush to the 13" macbook pro. I stuck a 128 gig card in and mounted with no issues. Great way to have a bit more space for downloads.

This product works well, but it doesn't stick in completely. It sticks out about 4mm from the side of my computer - Mid 2015 MacBook Pro Retina. Not worth the hassle of getting a refund/returning so I'll just use it -shrugs-

....aber:Ich habe den Adapter mit einer 128 GB SanDisk Mico SD Karte gekauft, um "Photos" von meinem MacBook Pro (late 2011) auszulagern und Fotoalben zu archivieren. Dies klappt auch ohne Probleme. Der Adapter passt auch wie beschrieben, jedoch bereitet mir folgendes Problem gelegentliche Wutattacken:Der Adapter im Macbook ODER die SD Karte im Adapter (was weiss ich noch nicht) verliert die Verbindung und wird dann vom MacBook als "unsauber" ausgeworfen angezeigt. Ist man gerade dabei ein Album von der Festplatte zur SD Karte zu kopieren und der Vorgang wird unsauber abgeschlossen, kann dies Probleme erzeugen, wenn man die Karte erneut benutzen will. Linux gibt mittels "fsck" (File System Check) sogar einen "dirty bit" aus. Es ist mir in der Vergangenheit bereits passiert, dass ich eine SD Karte wegen eines solchen Fehlers neu formatieren musste. Datacarving bringt zwar die Daten zurück, IST ABER VÖLLIG UNNÖTIG wenn die Hardware in Ordung ist.Ich möchte hier den Adapter nicht schlechtreden, es kann auch eine "Montagsproduktion" sein... Aber auf keinen Fall kann ich aus dem beschriebenen Grund 5 Sterne vergeben. Vielleicht müsste ich ein anderes Gerät als Gegenprobe testen um ein endgültiges Urteil zu fällen.

Es una manera super facil de ampliar la memoria de tu Mac. Ojo que no sea modelo Retina, sino el anterior.Queda bastante discreta una vez puesta, pero sigue siendo facil acceder a ella.No le pongo cinco estrellas porque, a pesar de no ser culpa de este modelo en particular, hay que tener cuidado siempre que iniciese el ordenador, ya que al tener metida una tarjeta, es posible que la interprete como componente del arranque y hasta que no la saques no carga el sistema operativo. Esto entiendo que es mas un problema del ordenador que del producto pero bueno.Por lo demás está muy bien, y funciona a la perfección.
