Another Series Added To Our PBS Watchlist - Love It
This is a series that I had thought about watching for some time now and upon viewing the first episode, my Wife and I were hooked. It is a very high-quality show that keeps you guessing from beginning to the end and has both excellent actors and really engaging storylines. The storyline of the episodes contains very serious crimes to be solved, and Professor T is an excellent resource for the British coppers who engage his services. There is also a personal story about the Professor along with the lives of the coppers who work with him. There are moments of humor included at the appropriate time which really balance this series and make it one that will be watched as long as they keep renewing it.

Interesting variant remake of the original series.
I bought this after seeing a single episode of the German version of this series, itself a remake of the Belgian original. The Professor T who appears in this British version seems human, all too human, compared to his German counterpart, who is more aloof, isolated, icy, cerebral, otherworldly and obsessed. I do not know if the stories in this version are remakes or originals, but for me, they are, at best, minor mysteries. There are never more than 3 or 4 logical subjects to choose from, although many of them have hidden motives, so for the experienced armchair detective, the individual stories, one complete in each episode, are merely puzzles, not true mysteries. What I did find compelling was the overt emphasis on the suffering inflicted on innocent victims and family members of guilty criminals. Nobody comes out of these experiences happy. At all. This is somewhat different than most American detective shows where the supreme effort is the identification of the criminal, with little empathy or concern for both victims and family members of the guilty. Nevertheless, this milder version of Professor T is recommended as entertaining and well-acted, with good direction and production values. Hope to continue with the second series when released on disc.

Excellent Mystery Series
This is the British version of the Belgian Murder Mystery series of the same name. Many are the same story with only slight modifications to fit more the British sense of humor and culture. Truth is, this version is MUCH better than the original Belgian version. At the risk of being somewhat of a Spoiler Alert, the only fault I found in this series was that although every case was solved to satisfaction, every one - not a few, not some, not most, but every one had a sad ending. I don't like sad endings. Too much like real life.

Excellent
This whole series is just so excellent that I am afraid they will cancel it because it is too good to be true. I love Ben Miller and the writers did write this with him and his special talents in mind. I also love eccentric characters which Miller does perfectly. Every episode is not a murder mystery--they tackle other crimes, which is a nice break from traditional. Only downside is the female detective, Donckers. So unimpressed with her acting and her character and I hope she moves on, or maybe becomes a murder victim herself.

Joseph’s Perspective
This crime mystery series is very, very British. It is fabulous. Professor T is very shrewd, always reasoning out the motive(s) and identifying the perpetrators almost immediately but keeping matters to himself until the time is right to say something. He is entertainingly different. I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys very British entertainment!! It is excellent.

Great British Show
Like most PBS masterpiece type productions professor T is a gem, if you haven't seen it I highly recommend this series. However, on the new season the first couple of episodes with him being in prison I could very much do without, it's a bit depressing, not quite sure why they needed to go there with all this, they were doing absolutely wonderful with the shall we say standard types of episodes, this diversion I could do without. But regardless, it is still a top-notch production, I just hope that they're done with this prison crap and never go back there 😱🥵
