I love it and it fits all my needs
I was looking for a rower to get some additional cardio in at home since I am very busy and always look for ways to maximize my time. I used to do CrossFit for 3 consecutive years (3-5x weekly) a couple years back before I started working out in my basement again. I was accustomed to the Concept 2 Rowers. So far I have had this Sunny Rower for 3 weeks and use it 5 days a week. I love it and it fits all my needs. It has multiple settings for intensity (low to high), it pulls really well, seems very well built and was extremely easy to assemble. It has everything I was looking for ESPECIALLY for the price. The only negative is that it doesn't measure in meters, which is something I was used to but now I just go by calories and it is fine. I highly recommend it ....very nice tower that gives you a great workout, makes you work and sweat and a very reasonable price!

I love my rowing machine!
I recently purchase the S H & F Rowing Machine, and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I not only got a great value for my money, but the price was a steal for everything this rowing machine does. I am 62 years old, and I am able to row for about 45 minutes every day. I am working up to an hour. I have exercised all my life and this rowing machine gives me a great work-out. The machine itself is sturdy, smooth, and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a rowing machine that will last a long time but will not cost a fortune, and you will still get the quality you are looking for.

Solid, not difficult to assemble
To set the stage I am an 80 yo man and not at all frail but I do have arthritis. This thing is a booger to unpack. It took me 20 minutes to unpack. Then it took me a little less than 40 minutes to assemble. The directions are clear and the parts relating to each page of directions are separately packaged and clearly identified. The machine feels very solid and I had none of the problems listed by other reviewers. I am an experienced rower and the return of the belt ready for the next pull is very satisfactory. I have tried several settings and they ranged from easy to nice and firm. I was concerned about the height above the floor because I have two replaced knees but the height of the seat is very comfortable. I can get down and back up comfortably. This thing just arrived today so I may edit this as I use it more but at this point I think it was well worth the money.EDIT:I love the machine but the exercise meter doesn't work. I checked connections and changed batteries but it just doesn't work. Changed from 5 stars to 4 stars. Disappointing. Way too much trouble to take down and return. The company promptly sent me a new meter which works perfectly. I love this machine

I like it!
Very nice rower. Have used about 6 times so far. Very smooth and quiet. I'm 6'8" 270 and I can fully extend my legs without hitting the rear seat stop. It's sturdy and simple to use. I like it so far.

Great product, fantastic value
I was curious to see the quality of a sub-$300 rowing machine, but my initial impression is very favorable (though I just finished assembling and have only used it once so far). First, it comes very securely packaged so the unit was in fine shape despite some big dents in the cardboard. Next, assembly was quick and easy, with all the hardware and tools included and even labeled by step (I completed the unboxing and assembly by myself in about 40 minutes...while watching TV). Everything fit together perfectly and the unit seems stable and sturdy--we bought the newer 5612 model over the 5515 because it seemed more solidly built, particularly the sliding rail.As for performance, I've only rowed for a few minutes but all seems well. The action is very smooth with just a slight whisper from the wheels on the rail--nothing that will bother you while watching TV or listening to music, and I doubt it would wake anyone up either. The rowing motion feels natural, with plenty of room to fully extend your arms on the Catch and your legs at the Finish. I'm about 5'10" with a 30 inch inseam and there are at least 6 inches of extra travel before the stops, so I'd guess anyone up to 6'4" should be fine. Also, it's hard to see in the photos but the rail is slightly inclined which helps give your legs a good workout on the Drive and eases your return on Recovery. I started out on resistance level 4 and that seemed about right, so plenty of room to grow.Other thoughts: the footplates for standing exercises work as advertised, and although that's not the primary reason to buy a rower it is a nice bonus. The wheels up front are rather small, so almost useless on carpet as others have said, but the unit is very light so it's not hard to drag it around anyway. Our unit had none of the slow-recoil issues that some have mentioned and the LCD screen, though smallish, is actually a bit bigger in person than the photos make it seem. I do wish it had a distance function but it is easy enough to read and you really can't be greedy at this price point. Overall, I think we're going to be very satisfied!

GARBAGE don't buy this unit. You'll regret it.
The unit came damaged. Brian my rep was very nice and helpful. But the unit had no resistance difference. 1 through 8 were the same resistence. Except hen i got to level 8 it also made a terrible grinding sound. When I called a second time i got another rep who asked me to open the side panel. I'm pretty good with things like this but for the life of me, even with my power driver, I couldn't get the panel off. So I called again and got my original rep. He listened over the phone and I described the tension as I went through the resistance levels. He heard the grinding at level 8 and immediately told me to return the unit. They sent me UPS labels for free ground return shipping. Which I did. But I had already gotten rid of the styrofoam packing material. So UPS had to pack it and charged my $29.98. I asked for a voucher or something as I was thinking of buying a Sunny water rowing model instead of the magnetic model. But they refused. So I'm here to say this model is JUNK. I've seen other posts similar to this, so it seems like you have a better chance of getting a defective one like I did, then getting one that actually works. The company could have cared less.

Works great with decent resistance
Works great with decent resistance. It's basically a full body workout and cardio machine in one.I thought it would be too easy as I lift a decent amount of weight, but even then it's just not something I'm used to and it fatigues my muscles as well. The only issue is it takes about 10 minutes or so to warm up if you use it in the cold. So bring it in the house if you intend to use it with no delays. It works great while warm.

Good value
This is good val;ue for money. All tools are provided, and it took me 35 mins. by myself to assemble. I am 120 KG+ (say 250 lbs.) and after 3 weeks' use, the only hitch is that sometimes the seat seems to go slightly off-track, producing a slight "bumpiness" as it goes back and forth, which goes away after a while. I've used it in my finished basement with laminate flooring without mats and the rubber pads at both ends are sufficient to keep it from sliding around. Some noise when rowing of course, but no complaints from neighbours even when I start at 5:30 am. The complaint from others about the on-board "computer" is justified - it's hard to read while rowing and not exactly intuitive, but gives me the time elapsed and the stroke count, so does the basics. For a machine under $500., it's good value.

Full range of motion
Good product. Allows for full range of motion so I recommend looking up proper rowing techniques on YouTube if you don't already know some. Also good idea to put it on mats instead of the floor as you move quickly back and forth. Mine never moves on the mats. I wouldn't say it was "easy" to assemble but I don't think it was more difficult than any other rowing machine. The metal feet for doing standing curls have started to show rust after about 4 months, but nowhere else, still running great otherwise, and I don't use it for standing exercises anyways.

works well but not for tall users
This would be an excellent value for medium height users, I am 6 foot 2 and I am not able to lean forward properly at the beginning of the stroke. There is no adjustment for the pedals. If I keep my legs straighter at the catch and don't scoot the seat all the way forward then the counter does not register the stroke. Also the display has no setting for cadence so if you want to know your strokes per minute you are out of luck.
