3 and a half years later.. Still going strong.
Wow, hard to believe but it's true. I purchased this "Solar Lighted Address Sign - Bright Custom House Plaque to help Emergency Vehicles and Visitors locate your homeSold by: Vitco Alabama Return window closed on Jan 6, 2018"for $35 way back on 11-27-17.(Picture of order.) I took the 2nd picture last night around 11:30 p.m. (6-16-2020) For some reason the middle #'s of my address did not show up in any of the 3 pics I shot. I was gonna blur them out but didn't have to. Weird.. Anyway, I remember when I first bought it reading the reviews that the #'s didn't stay on very long. So I took third pic of the #'s to show you I still have the full set minus the 5 #'s for my address. If they would have fallen off, and they have not, I would have still had replacements. (very unusual for me to know where anything I own is ,but I happened to throw them under my dresser and there they stayed. Thinking maybe I make that my new file cabinet, the wife keeps emptying my round one)I live up around snow line in Oregon. We had two pretty hard winters with snow up to almost the bottom of the lighted address sign. If you are not familiar with snow plows, let me tell you, they are pretty fierce and throw ice, snow and slush for close to 30 feet or more. I do not understand how this little baby stood up to the abuse but there it is, still shining bright. Too boot, we have been raining for the last four days or so, so the solar charger wasn't getting much light. Same battery pack, ( Which I intend to inspect sometime and give them a Kudos too.)I seriously did not expect it to last through the first year. You can probably tell in the night photo, it's pretty dark up here at night, we had difficulty finding our own driveway let alone expecting first responders could if we had to call them. We haven't, knock on wood, but if we do, they will know where our driveway starts.Congratulations to Vitco Alabama, very impressive item. Yes it's plastic, yes it's light weight and I expected to be rather "cheesy" but man, 3 1/2 years later? NOT CHEESY. Installation was too easy, I just stuck in the highwaymarker and walked away. If this thing ever does die, I probably just need a new battery. The solar panel is pretty tiny, about half the length and same width as a pack of cigarettes (and actually quite dirty too, I will go clean it off soon. ) THE front facing north let the solar panel facing south. Perfect. Would not hesitate to buy another one or to recommend to anyone. Totally blew my expectations out of the water. Very satisfied with my purchase, too bad Vitco didn't everything else I have purchased in the last 3 pus years. 5 stars all the way! Too cool.

3 years and still going strong.
This solar address light is still as bright as when we installed it in 2019. We have harsh winters and hot summers. We haven't had to touch it since it was installed.

Worth it. Really bright! Here’s a better stake idea:
Agree with others who complain about the cheap stake. If you pre-dig the ground then the stake won’t hold because it’s top heavy in loosened soil. If you don’t you’ll break the plastic stake. I got a 3/4” dowel at the home store, it fits almost perfectly. I pound it into the hard soil and the sign stays nicely upright. (Had to wrap the dowel once around with duct tape for smooth fit.) I have the sign at ground level which looks classier and isn’t susceptible to high winds. Aark! The sign is TOO BRIGHT! It blinds the eye and makes the numbers harder to read. Have to figure out how to tone it down a little.I’m lucky that the exact place I want to put it has the sloped solar panel facing perfectly. If I had to face it the other way it wouldn’t get any sun at all. Check your location and the picture first. Putting the numbers in place was easy, they come in sticky squares which fit the front almost perfectly. So instead of lining up the numbers, you just put the square between the two sides, it’s level! One GPS database has our house located incorrectly (and I can’t get them to fix it) so this is a godsend. Now, at least, when people go to the wrong house they can see our sign and (hopefully) come further down the street to our house. This really solves our problem, but I took one star off because of the cheap plastic. Really, people shouldn’t have to MacGuyver a post to make it work.

A fantastic find! LOVE IT!!!
Our house number is a bit hard to see from the street due to a tree and people were always passing it and needing to turn around. I wanted something that made it easy for anyone coming to find but also looked nice. This is awesome!! Not only is it easy to see, it looks great. During the day it is another number sign but at night, it lights up so well and offers a great glow to our flower bed. The sign is under a tree so it gets a lot of morning sun but about noon, it is shaded the rest of the day - even with that limited sun exposure, it stays lit almost all night. The numbers it comes with are perfect - I thought I would dress it up by using my cricut to make fancy looking numbers but realized that the number that come with it are really smarter - they are easy to read, large enough to see from a good distance, and look good. If my address was more than 5 numbers, I would have had to find or make smaller numbers but 5 fit perfectly.Since the pole is plastic, I was a bit worried how it would hold up in wind and weather. My hubs put a metal stake in the ground and then slide this on top if it, pushing it down into the dirt. So far it has held up during the winds and rain of Hurricane Harvey and some other intense wind storms we get in the hill country so I am pleased. The plastic is quite thick so I think it will not wear for a while - I would recommend doing the metal stake into the ground though for added stability if you get wind. Just seems like a safe back up.
