I have acid reflux and sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine and have been using a 25" length pillow wedge for the last couple of years. I am also a 6 foot 270 pound man. I just got over a terrible virus with a bad dry cough. My doctor told me that it was made worse and I was more prone to get sick due to the acid reflux. It's good I saw him for I am on meds for the reflux and he said the acidic aspect was gone but it was still there in nonacidic form causing damage. Primary reason was not sleeping at the correct angle. As many of us have learned the shorter length wedge merely raises the head and constricts the stomach making the reflex and all the problems it causes much worse.Of course I was told to raise my bed if possible but it is not. He then recommended this pillow and it has helped tremendously. It took about 1 week to get used to sleeping on it and I must say that is a good thing. I was concerned that due to my size and weight that the pillow would easily loose its firmness and squish down in size but that has not been the case at all. You are supposed to sleep with the side with the wedges up and the pillow is very comfortable while helping you stay in place. It just took me time to get used to sleeping on such a slant. The previous smaller wedge was not effective for my body enveloped it and its firmness quickly gave away.I begin on my back but am basically a side sleeper. I find the pillow comfortable in either position. I do wake up sometimes more towards the middle of the pillow and need to raise myself up again. it is not due to the pillow not holding me but rather me tossing around. My nighttime cough is pretty much gone and I must say it feels great to be able to lay fully prone on the pillow. I can feel that the airways are more open and it ultimately makes falling asleep much easier. There are many rave reviews here but I wanted to chime in for it has been very effective with a man of my size. Many feel the pillow is overpriced but I don't believe the quality of the foam with the correct medically recommended slant would be the same with other lower priced wedges. Highly recommend.

I purchased this wedge pillow in early August after reading so many positive reviews. My primary objective was to ease my acid reflux for which I was taking expensive, potent prescription medication. I have read advice that says to elevate the head of your bed about six inches to relieve this condition, but that's not always easy or practical to do. And if you're travelling, that solution won't help at all. By nature I am not an optimistic person and thought this pillow would end up in my specialty, "wish this had worked" pillow collection. Not the case.I'm probably not saying anything here that hasn't already been said by others, but this pillow works like a charm and I have been free of acid reflux since I got it. And for me, the pillow came with bonuses: I stopped snoring, a habit which woke me repeatedly every night; my sinuses stay clear so I'm not turning from side to side trying to breath; and speaking of breathing, since I'm sleeping in a comfortable elevated position, I no longer feel like an elephant is sleeping on me all night. One of the things that I really love about it is that I can use my regular pillow on top of it. And I can sleep comfortably on my back or side.As for the price of the wedge, it was a bargain for me. A 90 day supply of my medication costs six cents more than this pillow is currently listed for on Amazon. I'm saving money, and know I have found a healthier alternative.Note: This pillow is smooth on one side and rippled on the other. When I first removed it from the box I wasn't sure which side went up. I contacted the company to find out and was told the rippled side goes up. Also, even though the one I purchased is the standard size, and plenty big enough, it is also available in an extra wide width.

This pillow feels firm when laying on my side so took some getting used to. The firmness is very good for sleeping on my back. For side sleeping, I found that if I'm closer to one edge so that the bottom arm hangs more off the side I don't wake up with a sore shoulder. I use a pillow with the wedge to keep my head aligned. If you are buying this pillow for acid reflux relief, it does the job. I didn't wake up with acid feeling in my chest and throat. I get the same acid relief from raising the head of my bed which allows me to sleep directly on my comfy mattress, so I don't use the wedge at home but find it's a life saver, allowing a good night's sleep, when traveling. It's the size of a carryon suitcase when folded.Some people were wondering why this wedge costs twice as much as another folding wedge sold on Amazon. Medslant wedge pillow is made in the USA where manufacturing costs are higher than China where the cheaper one is made. Medslant also uses a soy/polyethylene blended foam which is more costly than foam made only out of polyethylene. I know that the soy blend foam costs manufacturers more because I used to have a business that used a lot of foam in it's products. I bought that other wedge pillow and returned it without ever using it overnight because it had a strong chemical smell even after airing it out for two days (very bad for an asthmatic), was flat and too firm, and had a very flimsy carrying case. The foam on the medslant wedge did not have a chemical odor, was ridged so allows for airflow to prevent it from becoming too warm during the night, and had a sturdy carrying case.

Après plusieurs recherches sur internet et dans les commerces de ma région, j'ai trouvé ce modèle sur Amazon (les commentaires d'autres acheteurs m'ont beaucoup aidé aussi) de coussin cale pour Acide Reflux. Je n'ai eu aucun problème à m'adapter et ma première nuit de sommeil a été parfaite et les suivantes et ce depuis 15 jours. L'étui de transport va être aussi très pratique car je vais le transporter facilement au besoin. Pour résumer, je suis extrêmement satisfaite de cet achat.

The gradual slope is the best feature! Has been a big help already after 2 weeks.

My husband used this for a short period after open heart surgery. Nothing at that point made it comfortable...I did like that it came with a cover you can wash and a carrying case. Can’t really say it served the purpose we purchased for ... time did.
