Easy install and works well. Great buy.
Super easy retrofit install. Not overly loud but not super quiet which is good for an exhaust fan in a small bathroom. Very simple design. Solves issues where a pass through vent is not possible.People who have issues with the bracket and install must not understand the design. Basically, you attach the bracket to the joist and once the wiring is attached, just snap the fan housing into the bracket. It really couldn’t be easier.

Fit's a need when venting is not practical.
I installed two of these in apartment bathrooms because the rental code in my city requires a fan. Both were wired to an existing light and turn on and off with the existing light switch. One was mounted through a hung ceiling tile and the other through drywall on the wall above the existing light. You want to use the oversize measurements to cut your hole because there are protrusions on the box (screws and bumps in the sheet metal), and you need to have room to get passed the bracket lip on the bottom of the bracket.Wiring is straight forward. You will need to supply your own Romex wire connector to clamp the wiring entering the box.The hardest part of this job is pushing the fan box into the bracket past the lip that holds it in. It took all the strength I had for the ceiling tile installation because I mounted to bracket to a "floating" 2x4 above the tile and just set it on the tile through the hole, so there was nothing to push against - I had to squeeze the box into the bracket with my hands. The in-wall installation was easier, but still not easy. I pushed as hard as I could and could not get the box past the lip, so I ended up prying the box past the lip with a screwdriver and was able to lock it in.The charcoal filter is a joke - flimsy, thin, small, and I doubt it will really do much of anything, but for my application the fan meets the city code and that's all I care about.
