There were scratch marks on the glass and the item seemed to be more like a child's toy, I am annoyed at having my time wasted and will be sending this back.

I have no previous experience with sound machines so have nothing to compare it to but it's obvious that this is a well designed product. Its small and seems sturdy and it has a simple and fairly sleek look. It runs on batteries which can be convenient at times but it comes with a mains plug - brilliant for everyday use. Also includes adaptors for different countries. I managed to set the times and understand all the buttons in a few minutes without having to consult the manual - a huge plus! Lots of electricals are just not intuitive these days. All buttons clearly marked and easy to understand.Sound quality seems fairly good and volume is easily adjusted - to very low or quite high volume. The loops do seem short as somebody else pointed out but that is not really that noticeable. There are lots of different sounds to chose from - some very soothing, others quite interfering but it seems good to have the range. The display has a back light that goes on when you operate the machine but it turns off automatically and so will not disturb you at night. The machine can be set to time the sounds so that it turn off the sounds automatically when you have fallen asleep. A very important feature.I chose this machine over others because it has a jack for plugging in your headphones or your pillow speaker (you have to buy one of these!!) Another good feature is the little lock switch under the machine. This locks the buttons so your machine doesn't go off in your suitcase.In all a really well designed and thought through little machine in what seems to be the middle price range. A bit pricy for some but worth it, I think.Seller was brilliant and i received the item very promptly.
