and I love them. I was a little concerned this time ...
I have owned many Flexi leashes in my life, and I love them. I was a little concerned this time because they've re-designed the Classic leash, and I wasn't sure what that would mean. There is no longer a medium size. Now it's medium/large. It is a bit larger, but it's also lighter. I haven't noticed any other real difference. I've only been using this leash for 6 weeks. Everything seems great so far. My last Flexi leash lasted 7 years of daily use. It actually still works, but the tape is fraying and getting stuck sometimes when it goes in and/or out. I didn't want to take the chance that it would just break one day, so I bought this new one. I'm including a picture of the old and new one together. The new one is black. I'm still using the bag dispenser that I had with the old one. I keep it attached with a velcro strip.

Some good, some bad - Small 16' Retractable Tape Leash better suited for a FULL SIZE DOG.
Some good, some bad Bought the Small 16' Retractable Tape Leash (up to 33 lbs), but it seems better suited for a full sized dog.The Good:1- it is super smooth and the tape runs in and out with barely a whisper.2- it has a tape instead of one of those little strings that can cut and burn.3- seems well made and I expect will last a number of yearsThe Bad:1- the handle is large measuring about 6"x4"x1". I wear size Large Men's gloves, and I can get all 4 fingers inside the handle with room to spare.2- it is heavy. Yep, that size means weight. You will notice it on a longer walk.3- the tape retracts fully so when you are hooking to your dog's collar, the handle is right there by his ear (my dog doesn't like that). It needs a stop 6-12 inches before full retraction.4- it seems like the spring is a little too strong. My dog is 11 pounds, and has no problem pulling, however, I noticed the constant pull tension in my wrist after a short time.

Not What It Used To Be ...
Am a long-time Flexi user and had great experience with the original design of this leash. I have now purchased three of the new design within the past two-weeks and the leads ("tape") on all have been snapped by our six-month old, 55 lbs Goldnedoodle puppy. While the puppy is strong and a challenge to handle at times, am more than a bit stunned by the poor quality for a product rated for dogs up to 110 lbs. Very disappointed.

Won't Retract All the Way and Then, Jams...
I've had Flexi leashes for years but this one was a disappointment. It worked fine for about two weeks and then it wouldn't retract all the way each time I used it. I still decided to keep it... after all it was only about 6 feet of leash hanging out. Then, it got jammed at about 8 feet and I asked for a refund. The day after I asked for a refund it unjammed itself and only left about 3 feet of leash hanging out. I am using it until I get the new one I ordered which is not a Flexi. What a disappointment... I don't know if this leash was a fluke but I feel badly about it being a Flexi and my leaving a rating of 'one." But, there is nothing else I can do.

Didn't Hold Up to a 70lb Dog Why Would You Think it Would Hold Up to a 110lb dog
I've always though these leashes were solid until they were't. We were walking our 70lb dog one day when we came around a corner to see a dog that our dog hates (this other dog had attacked him when they first met and has hated him ever since). Now the leash has held up to his random pulling (he likes to meet every dog we see) before but this time it just gave and in the worst way. It literally split the leash breaking open and the contents exited the handle and the dog was loose. Luckily no one was hurt but I will never buy one of these again ( I switched to a standard non-extending leash)

Get this leash.
This leash is awesome. I've been using it for three years and it works flawlessly. I like the tape leash because when the dogs walk they often get in each others' way - the tape leash is easy to see by my other dog so she can close her eyes or duck her head when the leash gets in her face. My dog is 10 lbs so doesn't put a whole lot of pressure on the leash, but he's young and strong and will pull and strain on the leash to get to a favored pee-stop. I can easily push the thumb lock when I need to pull him closer (when another dog walks past, for instance). I've had other leashes but they fail fairly quickly and don't feet as comfortable or smooth. Flexi is well-engineered and tough and will last for years.

My dog is a terrible leash walker
My dog is a terrible leash walker!! He pulls, he cuts me off, everything. So I bought this leash as a last hope. And I don't know it's like a complete 180. I think he just likes the extra space to explore without me being so close to him. And I can reel him in with ease. For reference my dog, Carter, is a 12 pound Maltese mix!

Good Control
Okay, first you have to learn how to use it. I've been using the Flexi leads for many years and find them superior to regular leashes. The Flexi brand is far superior in comfort and control to any other brand. Again, you have to be careful to keep good control of your pet while using this and make sure you don't get hands or fingers involved. Use only one hand to control your pet and once you get the hang of it, you will appreciate the freedom your pet has and the control you have.

Good strong lead.
Nice strong lead with a comfortable handle. The lock is easy to put on and the tape is long enough without getting too tangled. It retracts quickly and the lock holds well.

Was a waste of money for me
Unfortunately this snapped on the second day too thin for my short haired slim one year old collie..

The description is incorrect
The classic retractable dog lead (tape) consists of about 18 inches of tape - the rest is cord. Not what I thought I was ordering. The description is very misleading. If you want a tape retractable lead DO NOT buy this.

Strong and easy to use
Changed to this lead after 11years. Dog was getting old and very slow, so now she can have a stop and I don’t get my shoulder pulled out. Will always use this type now.
