Such pretty color!!
This hair color is awesome, hands down. I've got dark blonde/light brown hair, and I've colored it in the past but I've always done more natural colors (reds, and one foray with black) since school and work always had strict dress code requirements for no non-natural hair colors. But life is too short and the world kinda just sucks all around right now, so why not do something fun, you know? So, I got some colors that I like (Genie and Sea Witch, since both were on sale at the time) and set out with a plan: go for one of those peek-a-boo hair styles and dye the under layers a color and leave the top layers natural. Since I've never bleached my hair before, I figured doing this if it messed up then at least I could potentially hide it better than if I did my whole head. First impressions, this stuff smells so nice. It's super thick as well. We used maybe 1/3 of a jar for the underside of my hair, so while the price might be a bit much at first, for me it'll last for a bit, which is nice. After getting the dye on, we pulled my hair into a shower cap and I let it sit for about, I think maybe 2 or 3 hours before rinsing it out with cold water. Was surprised that there didn't seem to be a whole ton of color coming off when rinsing it out, I'm used to seeing a lot of color bleed off when I used to go red, and was fully prepared for my shower to look like I'd murdered a certain purple dinosaur, but there weren't any color stains left behind that I could see. I followed the rinsing with one of those Ion color sealing packets I got from the local Sally Beauty supply, since I read people mention the semi permanent colors tend to fade really quick. Genie is super vibrant on light blonde hair, like I knew it would be bright but seeing it on your own hair is something else entirely. Since it's basically a conditioner with a lot of dye in it, it leaves your hair so nice and silky soft. So far it's been 3 weeks since we did the color, and I wash my hair every other day since it tends to get stupidly greasy and nasty if I try to push it longer, and dry shampoos never seem to work well for me, so I had already resigned to expect the color to maybe stay nice and bright for a couple of weeks before starting to fade. But so far, I don't think it's faded at all yet, it's still so vibrant! I've been using Strawberry Leopard shampoo for the roots of my hair and the L'Oréal dream lengths conditioner for the middle and ends. I never use any heat on my hair, and I always wash it in cold water. Don't know if the color is staying so well because of the methods I use to keep up my hair, or if my hair just likes to soak up and hold color longer or what, but either way I'm loving how it's looking and am already planning out my next idea for adding in the Sea Witch to go along with Genie. 5/5 will definitely buy again.

Love it!
I usually use Rockabilly Blue but I've had good results with this brand in the past so I went with it this time. With this color works just like most of them do, the lighter your hair is the brighter it is but no matter what color you start with it does hold well. To get the color on the box your hair will need to be bleached white, otherwise it holds just as well but it gets duller & darker as the hair gets darker. I am predominately a level 8 but some tones are lighter some are darker because my last bleaching went bad and I do have a little gray in with natural brown roots so when I use unnatural colors it gives me an amazing variety of shade variation. I got a range of colors anywhere from bright bright blue like in the picture to a duller darker blue to a bluish overtone over my natural med. brown color that stands out like a blazing blue overcast in indoor lighting or outside. It's deeply pigmented and very comparable with Rockabilly but one big bonus, you get more because the bottle is much bigger so that earned it 5 full stars. My hair is still a work in progress and when it's finished I will be back to post results but so far it's downright amazing & I am very happy with this brand & this color so I decided to stop & order a couple more colors and get a bit more creative. It smells great and I'm happy with the product, the price, and the results. I like to put mine in then wrap it in saran wrap and set overnight & shower it out the next morning. It leave the hair super soft, smelling good and in good overall condition and doing it this way with 1 wash a week it lasts an amazingly long time. When mine arrived it was a bit runny so I suggest stirring it with something plastic before use to thicken it back up. I will update with a pic & final results when my other colors have arrived & I'm finished coloring. *If this review was Helpful to you please let me know!*

Fantastic hair dye
This brand has been my go to for over 5 years now. I love that there are no harsh chemicals involved and it actually smells nice. I usually let it sit for about 2 hours and have had zero issues. The colors are always vibrant with my hair and my hair is still very healthy after many years of dyeing it.

Vibrant for the win
On the pricey side for small jar that is maybe 2 uses or 1 depending how much hair you have. For me at least 2 uses. Pinky does a great job and cheaper. That being said the smell is good and hair felt amazing after. Pictures are after a 2 then 4 washes and still going strong. Beware red/purple does dye the bathtub so.... looks little scary lol. Very vibrant though and hasn't bled out much yet. Fade is subtle compared to other brands.

Easy to apply!
This is a beautiful color! It was easy to apply, but did also dye my scalp which took several washings to get off. Looked beautiful for about two weeks, and then started to fade down. I do recommend this product! It looked really pretty in my hair.

One of the best I’ve tried!!
This color from lime crime (valentine) is exactly what I was looking for!! Love how the color took to my hair and the smell was amazing like cupcakes. Compared to other vivid dyes I’ve used this seemed to last longest in my hair. The only thing I don’t like is the price because I have very long hair and need 2 jars so that can become pricey after awhile.

Know What You're Buying....But I Did Make it Work Out For Me In the End
Update 12/1/24: I found a very pretty pink/red permanent hair dye and use that on my roots until about my mid lengths and still have my ends (about 9 inches) purple with Genie. Been doing that for a couple months now. I wanted to try blue for the longest time, too, so I just bought a jar of Mystic on Black Friday. I'm hoping because Lime Crime isn't a permanent color, it will come off my ends without bleach and damaging my ends. We'll see how this works out. (Rated 1 star in my original review. Bumping it up to 3 stars now because it is working for me and no longer come off onto all my clothing, etc.) --------------------------------------------------- Original Review: I have been coloring my hair for many years and entered a purple phase about a year ago. I couldn't find a purple that I really liked, let alone a true violet. So, this was the color I was looking for. The problem? It's a stain. Not a semi-permanent color. Not a permanent color. A stain. What does that mean? It doesn't cover your gray/white hairs like you would expect it to for one thing. After about 2 washes, the color comes off the roots and around the forehead to expose the hair beneath. It also doesn't like to stick to the new virgin root growth either. It is more expensive than the other boxed permanent color I have purchased in stores and I honestly didn't want to buy/try it. My hair dresser used it on another client and it was around Prime Day, so I bought a few jars. Only use about half jar at a time. Good for long lasting if I wanted it to last. Now, have to use a different permanent color purple on the roots and then pull Genie through the rest of my hair. It takes my hair dresser 1 hour to do so, and my hair isn't that long. The gel is that thick and doesn't want to spread onto the length. She tried it on wet hair and it seems to go on a little better. I tried to sit for 2 hours the first time and agreed to try 1 hour under heat. Because it took so long to apply, my tailbone was killing me and I had to give up after 45 minutes. We always use a color lock afterward, but Genie still came off - on my shirt, on my pillowcase, on my sweater and of course, stained my shower floor. We use the lock for about 5 minutes now instead of the recommended 2 and it works a lot better. Stained all of my shirts for that first month as well. As always, try at your own risk, but know what you are getting into. Product really doesn't tell you what it is and your results are dependent upon that information. Not a happy camper and can't wait to move on to my next solid permanent shade. Good luck.

Unicorn hair
I did mine and my daughters hair, with two jars total (one pink and one purple) and still had quite a bit left over. It was a mess to do, but most of that is really on me. I did the top half (on us both) pink with the purple underneath, so this provided a messy challenge. If I’d had someone else to help me or if I’d just don’t one color it would not have been nearly as messy. It stained every surface in my bathroom, but that did come out with some Clorox bleach based bathroom cleaner. The dye is thick so it didn’t drip too badly. The smell was okay, but definitely not unpleasant. I would not say it smelled “good” but it didn’t stink or burn your eyes. The colors are rich and vibrant. My daughters hair was a bit darker than mine (medium blonde) so her results were diff shades of pink and purple than mine, but still very visible. My hair had been lightened in the salon back in November so my pink on top turned out quite a bit brighter than my daughters. I also had some chemical damage from the salon before and for both of us our hair after this dye felt soft and healthy. I have noticed bits of broken purple hair all over my bathroom after I brush mine, but it isn’t enough that it is visible and again I had damage before. Now my hair feels softer and healthier. My daughter had virgin hair that had never been treated in any way and hers is still very healthy. I’d also like to note that I chose not to cover either layer on ours all the way to the root (it isn’t washed out lol.) I will say that I did my first official wash about 3 days after I dyed it and probably about 1/4 of my purple is gone now. So I don’t think it is gonna last long on me. I have oily hair that has to be washed at least twice a week. But I wasn’t expecting permanent, so that’s fine with me. The colors we used were “Genie” the purple and “Juicy” the pink. My daughter is six and has been begging to dye her hair purple for quite a while, I was so happy to find a temporary dye without the harsh chemicals that would not damage her hair! All in all we are both very happy with our results.

Excellent colour
This colour is absolutely amazing! Easy to apply, smells lovely, left my hair very soft and it's vegan. It's very bright and my hair was pre lightened. It has faded after 8/washes which is excellent in my opinion, but the faded colour is shown on the other picture. I still love the colour even though it's faded. Excellent value for money as well. My hair is thick, naturally curly, shoulder length and I only used ¾ of the pot. It does say to apply to clean dry hair but my hairdresser applied it on wet, unconditioned hair.
