I absolutely love this baby gate. I have two toddlers, and having the peace of mind knowing they can’t easily access the stairs is everything. In real use, this gate does exactly what it’s supposed to do—adults can open it easily, but little hands can’t. I’ve watched my daughter try to open it herself and she was completely unsuccessful, which is exactly what you want in a safety gate. The walk-through door is very convenient. It swings open both ways, and I can easily open it one-handed by sliding the safety lock and lifting the handle. I also love the smart design features—the auto-close function works great, and the hold-open feature is helpful when carrying laundry or kids. When installed at the top of the stairs, the door stopper adds an extra layer of safety, which really shows thoughtful engineering. The gate feels sturdy and well made, not flimsy or cheap, and it blends nicely into the home without being an eyesore. Installation was straightforward, and once it’s in place, it feels secure and reliable. Overall, this gate offers excellent safety, ease of use, and quality for the price. If you have toddlers or pets and need a dependable gate—especially for stairs—this one is absolutely worth it.

I'm just a little puppy and I've been super busy exploring my new house. For some reason The Mama does not think I need to be upstairs where there's tons of stuff for me to get into. I have no idea what she's so worried about. I just like to explore everything with my teeth. The Mama bought this gate as a solution to keep me on the main floor where everybody can see me unless they go upstairs with me. Well I'm here to tell you this gate is dumb. It works exactly like she wanted it to and keeps me from going upstairs with all my people. She said putting it together was pretty easy and she loved the instructions because they came with pictures showing different configurations for the gate. Clearly they worked because it fits beautifully and I'm STUCK outside of it. I mean sure, it looks really pretty and is super sturdy (I DEFINITELY can't knock it down...I've tried) she even bought these little extension things to make it even more stable. The latch works perfectly when my sisters remember to do it. Every now and then they leave it open and I can escape up the stairs! I don't recommend this gate AT ALL but The Mama does- she says it looks super nice and is made of high quality materials. She also says the price is a great insurance policy to prevent me from being in places I'm not supposed to be destroying things or eating them and having to have them surgically removed. I say it's lame.

Very happy with this gate, was a little concerned when I opened the box thought oh no only one extension needed both then realized the 2 - 4” extensions were put together fits perfect! Heavy duty extremely easy to put up, swing door latches nicely, great height for kitty’s brought in a new rescue kitty so purchased this gate to separate them till these 2 adult cats get used to each other in the video is my kitty Toby that have had for 4 + yrs a little put out by having a newbie here and she’s still working up enough courage to come out to see him since he scared her right off the bat. As you can see he tried to figure out a way to get thru not even close but he is a big boy, then eyed it up to see if he could jump over pretty sure he can’t after watching him since did the video. I chose to not mount it permanently stays in place firmly with just the rubber pads on top used 2 of the set of 4 rubber extension pads ordered separately on the bottom just in case. Beautiful walk thru gate well worth the price :)

Made it almost three years. Survived the baby phase but when it went back up for baby #2, it couldn't survive the toddler phase. A nice design. Easy to install and doesn't look too bad. Nice that there's no added tripping hazard by the stairs.

I love it! For everyone on here that states they had to put wood to fill in the gap when installing on a wall with a baseboard - I'm wondering if they just didn't have the spacers at that time. Our gate came with wall spacers for when installing on wall with a baseboard and they work great! I will agree though that the screws it comes with aren't long enough if you have a wall with a baseboard. Thankfully we happened to have longer ones on hand. My only "complaint" is that the wood portion of the gate is not the same color in the product pictures. The pictures make it look a lot more gray, when in reality it's a light wood color with a faint gray wash. A thing I was surprised by is that this gate cant be pushed to latch closed. You have to manually slide the gate in and out from the latch. Not a big deal, but I've just never seen a gate like that before. Overall though, it's SUPER sturdy. I ended up putting a third banister clip on just cuz my Bannister is metal and a bit slippery. And I love that it has a door stop for when installing at the top of stairs to prevent any accidents.

I've been looking for a product like this for years. I had many other gates before but this is the best one yet. PREVIOUSLY, any type.of semi permanent gate manufactured for the top of stairs had a raised threshold that was on the floor. This was an extreme safety hazard for anyone human or pet going up or down the stairs. This gate DOES NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM! There is nothing for me to trip over. The gate is very sturdy and my two dogs can't tag team it to get it open or pull it off the wall. It's very easy to assemble. I have iron rails and it fits perfectly. I did not have to use the large ties, the blaster stick on tie holders, the contour holders because the gate hinges fit flat against the iron rails. The gate was adjusted to the right size so that I did not have to use the gate foot...which is something you would need for a wider opening. The gate can be placed with the opening hinge left or right which allows the gate to open either way according to your needs. Makes my life stressful knowing my fur babies are protected and I WONT inadvertently trip and fall down the stairs. Will highly recommend and will check out your other products. Thanks. I bought this gate after purchasing the Carlson gate. I chose this one because it is much taller. I just opened a grooming salon and I feel confident that it will keep the dogs from trying to jump over. It also seems very sturdy. I saw some reviews saying it was very loud. It is a little squeeky but I don’t mind that. I also love that you have to slide and lift up to open the gate. My other gate is just a button/slide and I feel like this one is more secure. The only downside is that to close the gate back I have to press in on the red piece. It could be because my doorway is a weird size and it’s very snug but I don’t know. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Overall, I think it was a great purchase and I’ll be buying another one in the future to replace the shorter gate.

Just installed our gate at the top of the stairs. One feature that set this unit apart from other gates I looked at and tried, were the brackets that allowed you to use on a wall with baseboard or without. I didn't realize that from the description, but that came in handy! What I don't like about this gate is that it can only be installed on two flat surfaces across from/facing one another. I was hoping to be able to fold it away, flat against a wall in the open position when not needing the stairs secured. The latch mechanism is effective, but the plastic feels quite light and flimsy. Also, the bottom latch seems to serve no purpose. The tab on the lower part of the gate that sits in the bottom latch has no release trigger, so if it hits the latch on center like it seems it's supposed to, there's no way to release it. By lowering the support foot, the gate dropped enough for the tab sneak out of the latch via two channels that allow it to open/close freely... It seem secure enough but it just doesn't make sense to me the way it works and the bottom latch is mentioned only in fine print on the last page of the instructions. One thing that I noticed in other reviews was that the locking cams, which control the width of the gate, aren't very secure. Other people seemed to come up with solutions for this—running their own screw through the pieces to secure them in place, or maybe a couple of strategically placed zip ties will suffice. Once installed, I locked the four cams on my gate and was instantly able to slide it narrower or wider with not a whole lot of effort... scary since that can easily cause the latch to disengage. Another less-critical complaint is the color. The white is so bright it's almost blueish. I have newly painted white moldings and banister, and this stands out against them in a way that clashes. That said, I've shopped every gate I could find on Amazon, and I'm not sure the perfect one exists... so for now, since the holes are in the wall already, this one will stay. I hope this is helpful!

Overpriced

Mi barandal es de tubular y no llega hasta la superficie final del 2do piso. Tuve que mandar ha hacer una tabla de madera para que se adaptara. La puerta puede abatirse y correrse. Cuando corre a veces se traba si no está bien nivelada y en mi caso por el barandal es así, pero fue la única que pude adaptar.

Great product. Been using for about 2 years and still sturdy, looks good and safe for toddlers.

This metal baby gate has a 2 lock system, making it virtually impossible for a little one to open! It doesn’t damage the walls and it works great with our animals too. A great bonus: it looks so stylish!
