We were so disappointed to learn that the Echo did not come with a battery, so I found this battery for it and it has made moving Alexa around so much fun. We've had this battery for about 9 months and it's worked fine. Well worth it. My only warning, and I don't think this has anything do with the battery, is that the Echo will drain the battery over night is you forget to plug it back in before going to sleep. Not sure what she's doing to use up so much power, but you'll find her off in the morning... or after an extended period time.

I'll start by answering the one question that seems to pop up often, and I was wondering myself. How well does it stay secured to the Echo? Pretty well, but with a disclaimer. Make sure your Echo is unplugged (not anchored) before moving it around, and I wouldn't shake the Echo violently like a can. For moving the Echo from spot to spot, you can grab it by the middle without worrying too much. It stays in place because it is a snug fit between the Echo and the battery. I haven't had the battery very long, but I'd imaging continuously removing the battery or even extreme changes in temperature will effect this. If this happens, I may stick some two sided tape in there, but for now it's a secure fit.As for battery life, I found myself getting the lower end of the estimated range (4-5 hours). It's nice that any 2A USB charger will work on this as I usually keep one in every room (kitchen, living room, master bedroom), except the bathroom. As for moving it around the house, anywhere it gets signal, it makes it much easier to move around. Also, you don't have to put up with the device rebooting every time you move it. If they ever make a 4G Echo, I might be upset about the short battery life (like I said mine is at the low end), but for the current WiFi version, it's perfect for me. A quick charger would be nice as it also takes a long time to charge on both the original and 5V/2A USB chargers. Other reviews have gotten closer to the high end of battery life. It could depend upon usage, or variable quality of the batteries. The on/off button isn't super responsive, and I find it sometimes takes multiple tries to turn off the device. Without doing a separate review of the Echo, this is really adding a feature that should have been standard with the device.For the price, it's hard to beat this option. There's an 18 hour battery, but it's more than double the cost ($89.99 at the time of writing) and doesn't have the option the charge from USB or charge USB devices. That one might be a good option if you're very attached to yours, and there aren't a ton of outlets in the places you use the Echo. There's also the Tap if you don't mind pushing a button for voice control, and haven't purchased an Echo yet. I only own the Echo, so I would check the reviews to see which products are best for you.

Best echo battery out there. I have had this for 4 months now. Works perfectly. Battery lasts a long time. Also love the fact that it really does charge your phone with the USB. Went to workout my phone battery being 49%. I plugged the phone to the battery and did my 40 min workout with Alexa streaming my spotify via Bluetooth on my phone. By the time I was done my phone battery was up to 65% and the echo battery only lost one light of battery (was at 3 lights from full 4 lights when I started)

We get frequent power outages in the wee hours of the morning and it is rather annoying for all of my Echo devices to wake me up at 3 am with a loud "Hello!". (They then further complain about not being able to connect to the internet but I'm working on that and it's out of scope for this review.) This base works like a charm. You hear a slight >click< when the power transitions from ac to dc or back but that's it. The system keeps right on going.
