Z-Grip Retractable Ballpoint Pen, Blue Ink, 1.0mm, 24 Bulk-Pack

These are my favorite everyday pens. They write smoothly, feel comfortable in my hand, and are reliable without costing a lot of money. I especially like buying them in the larger pack because I’m constantly either losing pens or giving them away. At this price, I don’t have to worry about keeping track of every one of them, but they still write better than a lot of more expensive pens I’ve used. Nothing fancy—just a really good, dependable pen that I’m always happy to have around.

They are light, comfortable to hold, and write clearly from the first try. For me, the 1.0 point is perfect as I prefer a more solid line when writing so I haven’t tried the other sizes. I use these pens to write on almost any surface including washi tape in my journal. They also write really well on shiny surfaces like the back of a greeting card. The only thing I have found them to be hit or miss on is PET tape and transparent plastic tape from my label maker. However, I don’t really expect them to write on that kind of tape, so it doesn’t bother me. I was a long-time Bic ballpoint pen user but was given one of these at work, and I fully converted almost immediately. Also I find the price on Amazon, especially on Subscribe and Save, to be the best I’ve found. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy using a ballpoint pen for your day to day writing!

These pens write very well, and the blue ink has a beautiful, uniform color. The grip is comfortable, and the 1.0 mm tip allows for smooth writing. Plus, the 24-pack is very convenient to have at home, school, or the office.

At 37 cents per pen, these pens are ideal. I would prefer if they were a bit longer. Feels soft while writing. Maybe a little bit more ink should be released when writing, the lines are too thin for my liking.

These pens are great. Really nice grip (I usually don't like the extra material for the grip, but it is fine on these pens). I've never had a pen that writes so smoothly - reminds me of a rapidograph.

Overall, these Zebra Z-Grip pens are comfortable to hold and offer a nice grip for longer writing sessions. The ink is bold and dries quickly, which I appreciate — especially for everyday use. However, I’ve noticed that a few pens in the pack have inconsistent ink flow — they skip or take a few strokes to get going, which can be a little frustrating. Most of the pens work just fine, but the quality control could be a bit better. Still, for the price and quantity, it’s a solid deal — just be prepared that not every pen may write perfectly from the start.

I have finally found my favorite pens for serving! I love pens. I am obsessed with them and I try everything. But while it's easy to find the nicest thickest ink pens, the ones I use when I'm home, and judge those...it's arguably much harder to find the "best cheap pen." I mean, a good ballpoint pen is hard to find, period! That's why I only use them when I have to. I have had a consistent issue when it comes to my job as a server in a restaurant. The pens that write nice and thick and smoothly (which they need to as I have <5 seconds to write down everything my guest is saying) then transfer ink onto my hands and onto my receipts and everything else in my book once I shut it. Still, I would rather take some messy ink transfer than be struggling to get out any ink in the first place and cramp up my hand from having to use so much pressure at a hard angle (as required by other ballpoint pens). This is why I have just been using nicer ballpoint pens and doing my best to mitigate the mess. Bottomline: I need ink to come out fast and dry fast and it's been a struggle Until I just happened upon one of these...and immediately rushed to order more! This is legitimately the first pen I have found that writes and produces ink as well as it does while simultaneously drying as fast as it does and therefore transferring ink as little as it does. While I don't know if I'll ever find a perfect balance, these pens are my new favorite. They last pretty well, especially for the price. They are very comfortable to hold and use - balancing weight, width, and size well. The biggest standout again, is how quickly they dry. I would be paying a lot more for these if I had to! My main complaint is that the bottom tip unscrews. Something that of course most pens can do (and something that is a problem for some pens more than others). It is pretty bad for these ones in particular. I haven't had one burst or fall apart; it's only as I'm writing the tip starts to unscrew and fall down and I have to quickly screw it back into place so it keeps working/producing ink. This happens a lot more when I'm using these pens vs. others. I would almost prefer them to dry out quicker vs. coming apart so quickly! I am putting them under a lot of stress though, as you can imagine. I don't think they would cause me nearly as much trouble otherwise.
