Awesome Curl Machine
I was skeptical about buying this since nothing has worked on my hair. Underneath on my hair is pure frizz, the next layer up is wavy and not in a good way, and last but not least the top layer is straight as an arrow. I decide to try this after reading some reviews on other models I was a bit afraid. After received it I glanced at the directions which didn't tell me much and went straight to YouTube and found a Conair of a similar model and watched a few. I HIGHLY recommend doing this if you decide to purchase it helped me tremendously. I washed my hair and air dried it, and put a heat protectant on it and went about my day with my hair in a pony tail. Next time I will let it dry overnight. It will make no difference either way, but my hair takes forever to dry on it's own.Ok I was finally ready to try it and be disappointed....well I did my hair in 3 sections starting from the bottom up. Tackled the frizz first. I combed each piece as I went. To my shock and dismay it went perfectly and I had curls. I used high heat and 12 seconds as I knew it would not stay in a tight curl. Then I went to the wavy section, went perfect, then to the straight section and before I knew it about 30 minutes I had even curls all over my head. My husband watched and thought what the heck are you doing. The trick is to get it in the chamber correctly like I saw in the video. I had no tangles or catches. I also don't recommend trying to try and curl from the scalp out. It is a different angle and it won't work and trust me you will have plenty of curl. I let the curls cool down then lifted each layer gently and used a light hairspray on my layers (I say layers but my hair is all one length past my shoulders). Also unlike any other curling device when you hear the solid beeping and it is done just open the device and let the curl fall, if you try and tug at it, it will ruin the curl. The Curl Machine is not heavy, I only wish I had a mirror in my bathroom to see what I was doing in the back, I did it by feel. My curls di loosen overnight as I slept on them, but my hair is EXREMELY thick, so I expected that, but I had Beachy waves. I threw it up in a ponytail and walked my dogs and was sweating really bad, took out the ponytail shook my head and all my waves were still there instead of frizz.. We are in monsoons so it is humid right now. I highly recommend this Conair Pro Curlmatic Curl Machine, but again do your homework before you start and get on Youtube and you will find it easy. I have tried electric rollers, hot brushes, curling irons, flat irons and none worked for me and my flat iron alone was over $300.

Fine, straight hair is a little hard to curl
It works on my mid length hair, but not on my daughter's long hair without getting caught up, but we stopped it in time and all was well. Fine, straight hair is a little hard to curl, unless you use a little help from a gel, foam, or spray. But I like it.

Not for me
Hair got caught. Had to use very small amounts of hair, so took a long time. Returned it.

Easy to use with lovely results
Absolutely love this device and so does my husband! I had a hand surgery 9 weeks ago after which my right (main, dominant) hand was in a splint for 8 weeks. My wonderfully helpful husband has never operated a curling brush or iron in his life (62 yrs). What am I going to do with my hair during all this time?!?! Two days after my surgery, while scrolling through the tv channels on my way to TCM, I see the Curlmatic demonstrated on QVC. When my husband returned home from work, I showed it to him, he watched the video and said he thought he could use it to help me with my hair. It works like a charm!! You can't go wrong. You simply put in a section of hair, gently bring the two parts together and it automatically curls the hair around the inner rod. While you hold it closed, it beeps 4 times to let you know it is done. If you want a softer curl, open it after 2 or 3 beeps. If you put in too much hair, it beeps a warning and doesn't curl.My hair looks great, and my husband gets a charge out of using it and how fast and easy it is. Now that my hand is almost healed, I'm enjoying using it, too

BAD PRODUCT
If I could give NO star I would. This product is horrible. My hair got stuck in it. I had to break it into pieces and it took me and my mother in law over an hour to get my burnt hair out. I watched several tutorials on how to use it. Used a small section of hair......even smaller now because most of it burned and fell out. So I strongly say stick with a 1980-2016 old fashion curling iron. Do not waste your money on this. BAD BAD PRODUCT

the first piece of hair i did was a perfect little ringlet as was the rest of the hair ...
I have tried this product on a whim. A relative bought it and was telling me all about it so naturally I had to try it. I normally have wavy/curly hair depending on what I do with it when wet or how humid it is outside. the first piece of hair i did was a perfect little ringlet as was the rest of the hair I tried it on. However my relative who has naturally straight hair go loose curls when she used this product. Don't get me wrong they were very nice and the end result was pretty but I think the natural texture a person has is a big factor when using this product. Another factor is the length of hair. I have long hair that goes past my breast but my relative has just below the shoulders. The only issue I had with this product was that some of my hair got caught in the machine and I couldn't get it all out so I had to cut a tiny little knot out.

Does what it says it is advertised for
It does what it says it does. Nice curls. I like how it beeps when too much hair is drawn up. I just back away from my head a little and it curls. I don't need to rewind. That's why I choose this mode. Also it can be held to the right, left and center to position around my head. Just make sure the curl opening is facing your head.Seems to make soft, not fizzy hair. Since it curls a small amount of hair at a time, allow enough time to do your hair. Pretty neat product.
