Are they discs actually colored, or just silver? There seems to be some discrepancy in the reviews....

The ones i order was all silver just one color hope this answers your question. May i all also add the ones i have don't have the initial CD on either side . Of course my unit little older unit as well weather that would make a different or not They do work.

Are these "digital audio" discs? The current photo supplied here makes it appear that these are not.

Hello - these discs are not specifically designed Digital Audio / Music discs. The photo displays the correct product, but the packaging may differ from the image shown.

Some clarity: are these colored on the shiny, recording side, or just the top (label/marker) side? If colored on the shiny side, what are the colors?

They are only colored on the top.

Can i use them on my sony rcd w500c cd recorder?

no this is for computer use only, for recorders use sony cd digital audio at $ 39.99 spindle 30 cds
