Spade handle well made. Good quality, easy to fit.

Excellent does the job

The hoe handle which is solid and made in Italy (Brand Name Brawn). Excellent and does the job.

Good ergonomic design. Certainly sturdy. The height and width of the headstock should be in the specification. My axe head slot was wider than the headstock and I had to glue on extra (about 2mm per side) wood before shaping it to fit before hammering in the wedges. It was also significantly higher than the hole in the axe-head and required quite a lot of work with a spokeshave. But, once fitted it has proved to be good to handle, robust and secure.

Made from Beech, according to sticker on handle, which could be correct as rather light. For a digging hoe I would have wanted a tougher Ash handle. Thick end is 50mm diameter tapering over 30cm distance down to 36mm which continues for remainder of handle (total length 119cm/47 inches). Came with a gash in side though not particularly material to me since I bought this handle knowing that I would be modifying it to fit a different tool.
