Logitech QuickCam Zoom Webcam

Bought this primarily to be used as a WebCam which it does admirably [MSN Messenger 6.1]. Also found the install/config into Win XP painless and the face tracking surpringly accurate/effective - though it can zoom in/out a little too often [only face tracking config is on/off].Doesn't get full stars as I also bought a 'Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro' which produces much better clarity/response and handles low light better but is 50% more expensive - you pays your money and...

The Logitech QuickCam Zoom is yet another quality product from Logitech, I installed this product on a Windows XP system and after having problems with other makes conflicting with my TV card I was a little concerned the same would happen again.The smart looking webcam comes with a handy 2.1 metre USB lead which made locating it much easier than other models I've had in the past. The whole installation process was very easy with minimal prompts however it's maybe worth noting you are required to install the software and drivers first. After restarting the computer I was prompted to connect the webcam to the pc, automatically Windows detected it and completed the installation.Setting up the software settings was also made very easy being able to adjust colour, white balance and many other settings along with being able to enable or disable the smart "face tracking feature", the face tracking is a very smart idea although different at first and strange to see it accurately follow your face as you move and automatically zooming in and out to ensure your face is correctly in frame.The picture quality is good for a webcam although sorry its not good enough for photo's other than fun quick snaps, the type you take, show once and then delete, located on the front of the lens is a white ring which allows you to manually adjust the focus and a cover which slides over the lens to protect it and to allow for those moments of privacy.The built in microphone is very powerful and produces very clear results, in fact it is that good I've removed my head set and sole rely on the Logitech QuickCam Zoom's built in microphone, however I must point out unless you are in a completely sound proof room it wouldn't be suitable for use with talk n type programs such as Via Voice etc as it picks up everything in the room very clearly.All in all this is a very clever good looking webcam at a very sensible price and one to go for.

this webcam is soo easy to install and set up. i run xp and after i installed the drivers all i had to do was restart the system and connect the camera and it done the rest. the picture quality is very good and the automatic face tracking really has to be seen to be believed. the microphone gives good sound quality and overall this is a fine piece of equipment. i bought this to replace an older webcam, and i recommend this one to anyone who doesn't want to pay a lot of money but still get quality results.

Although this product says it is compatable with the mac, the only software that works with it is the quick capture, not face tracking nor any of the other editing software. Neither does it work with Yahoo messenger, as there is a bug in yahoo messenger which causes the image to become too dark so all you can see is a black image. However it is possible to download a driver from a independant company. It will cost you about £13! but allows you to use the web cam with Yahoo messenger. So overall im quite disappointed with the cam. AND a little annoyed at logitech for not stating the true compatablitly, if you just want it for yahoo messenger and dont mind paying an extra £13 then its a nice little cam, a little awkward to position sometimes, but not too bad. To download the driver go to the web site they give you a thirty min trial to check it works.Works fine on the PC

This really couldn't have been any easier to use. I literally took it out of the box, plugged the camera into my USB port, installed the software and I was done and able to take pictures all within the space 10 minutes!Many other webcams give off quite poor quality pictures but this camera's picture is really clear and not at all grainy. You can use the timer option on this aswell.So if you're looking for a webcam, look no further than this one!

i got this cam a wile back now from here on amazon and i swear bye it it has great things like time laps , animation and other fun toold like that i have had mennt days of fun with this cam it give u great pics and fast video and with some of the toold u can make it like 20 times faster then normal witch just made me and my friend laugh for houers i would Recoment this webcam to anyone this cam is a MUST HAVE if i could give it i would give it 10 stars but it only gose up to 5 hahah

Being a complete novice with pc's and there extra's,i was very impressed with the set up guide as it is idiot proof,the step by step set up enabled me to be up and running within 10 mins.What shocked me was ,even the advanced settings on the web-cam were easy ,so i was adjusting contrast/colour straight away as well.It has the most impressive funtion that will follow your face, zoom in and out automatically called face tracking.soooo good!!
