Buyer be aware
I was expecting a stone WithOverall dimensions: 3-1/2" x 1-3/8" x 9/16" high, which is what I could buy from one of the jewlery supply stores for $6.90. What I received is a miniature piece size of a 1" piece of pencil, and the price was higher. This piece is dangerous and could cause injury if used to shape a fast rotating electrical tool. This item is misrepresented and a buyer would never expect to get what is on the screen.

Dremel 415 Dressing Stone
I finally got to try using this to clean a Dremel sharpening stone I used to sharpen a tool. My mistake was I used oil. If I was supposed to use oil, and the directions did not mention whether to or not, I used the wrong kind. The stone no longer felt abrasive afterwards. I used this dressing stone on it and it cleaned it up really well.

Dressing Stonehenge
When I received this dressing stone, I was reminded of the Stonehenge model from "This Is Spinal Tap" -- it is very small, about the size of a piece of Dentyne chewing gum. The image makes it look like it's the size of a brick and the product details say it's over 5 inches long, but you could hide it under a quarter.I don't know yet if it works for cleaning grinding bits -- I hope I get a chance to try it before I lose it.

Using the Dremel 415 Dressing Stone
The Dremel 415 Dressing Stone works as it should. It is tiny & a bit bigger would be easier to hold, but it does work for what it is designed for.The Dremel 415 Dressing Stone is a small black rectangular stone made of extremely hard abrasive which is supplied with many machines & many bit sets or is available separately.Use of the 415 Dressing Stone can make a grinding stone work better & may help it last longer. It can also be used to make a stone into a special "custom" shape for a particular job.Stones can be "dressed" for better working as they are used. This is because the surface gets duller & filled with metal filings. Also, the stone wears out of shape & reshaping it can help improve its usability. To dress or reshape a stone you use a piece of harder stone, the Dremel 415, to wear away the top dull layer or remove material to reshape the stone.

Another use
Rather small for its intended purpose. I used mine to resize a cutting disk so I could reach a tight space. Take it slow and steady as the disk could shatter if you hit the stone at the wrong angle.
