They do what I need them to do w/out feeling like a diaper - I'm ordering more
I use these for a variety of reasons. I'm a woman using a shared account with my husband and family. After several pregnancies and moving into Peri-menopause despite a new baby (hello 2012!), I began having some stress leakage (The spritzing when you cough or sneeze as Whoopi Goldberg would say). However, I also have some IBS issues and some occasional spotting and staining as I progress through Peri-Menopause and Post-mid-life Pregnancy issues. In addition, whenever I have to take strong antibiotics (once or twice a year for another condition), the stress leakage may also be in the back. OY VEY! What I do when I don't know literally if if I'm coming or going or both is to use the pad of choice for what's happening up front and NOW, I take these new, super-thin and very flexible Carefree pads & add them horizontally to the back of my panty; 1 or 2 at a time. They are so light and thin that they are hardly even feel like I'm wearing a little extra under-armour! Usually one is enough but sometimes, 2 are needed. This set-up works very well for me, protects my clothes, underwear and bedding and I don't crinkle or make tell-tale noises when I walk! The best part - NO saggy pants from disposable undies or thick monthy protection! I can still wear fashionable pencil skirts without the whole world knowing I have IBS or that I'm a Middle Aged, Woman with young kids and prolonged peri-menopause issues (the spotting)! What a relief! I bet I'm not the only woman out there with so many coverage issue needs and therfore, I share my experience with my new favorite product:I know this is not what Carefree Intended these pads to deal with, but it's how I have been using them and if you suffer from IBS, it sure beats carrying a couple of puppy wee-wee pads in a ziplock bag to the workplace to discreetly lay on your seat or fold under your skirt -- all the while hoping you're the 1st person in the conference room for a loooooong meeting! Just like the Spritzing and the occasional Spotting as we age, during a particularly bad bout of IBS, some movement or a sneeze can let loose a tiny little bit of liquid from Irritable Bowel Syndrom. This can even happen despite you having been extra careful not to eat anything the night before or morning of the big meeting! I have had a couple of meetings go far over-time, causing me to rush to the Ladies' Room and find that these new Carefree extra-longs, applied sideways caught any of the "spills" and absorbed the liquid without a problem. Phew! They're cheap enough that you can use them for several different reasons and not be out of pocket for a dollar of more per day or two of protection as you would with other options for this kind of thing. Even those new fancy Briefs Depends is advertising with Lisa Rinna aren't as comdfortable as my ad hoc set-up. I know because I've test driven them. The Depend Underwear Silhouette Maximum Absorbency for Women, Large/X-Large, 10 Count (Pack of 4) still make you extra warm since they are plastic lined and are better for overnight usage for heavy problems. My solution using Carefree is still cheaper and more comfortable in the heat of Los Angeles (4/27/12)I know they make disposable underwear for this kind of issue but the Carefree flexible pads along with my favorite other pad, catch any "staining" from my unpredictable & irregular "Monthly" while the Carefree is light enough and flexible enough to use for "back-door insurance". The combo allows me to wear my normal Shapewear slip with a bodysuit-style snap. I love being able to wear this slip again with the new Flexible Carefree because it gives me a smooth all-over look and body conscious clothing without worrying about giving away my "secret" with the crinkle noise or bulky disposables. EVen the Silhoutte Depends won't fit under my shapewear and make it hard for me to stay fasionable & flxible with my time. Using the Carefree instead, I can stay late at work or go out for a drinks meeting knowing I have a "change" in myb purse. try carrrying a "change" of those briefs in your Clutch bag - so not gonna happen! I now carry a small Clutch bag with 4 extra Carefrees and a couple of pads in one pocket and I can be as active as I want to again, free from the worry of a leak or stain ruining my clothing or, horror of horrors: any furntire such as chairs, loveseats or other upholstry. It's truly liberating! The pads are SO thin you can fit one in a credit cardholder or several in a business card case! This may not be the best pad out there for those that wanted the absolute skinniest and longest everyday Pantyliner, and I can respect that, but I'm happy enough with them to order another 92 count package right away! It's a great solution for my problems and far cheaper than giving in and buying adult "diapers" which I really don't need for my minor problems. I've tried those as well as the new heavily advertised Depends slim briefs and they are just hot, clammy and beyond my issues. I just need a little extra, flexible coverage and the Carefree pads, which are intended for every day use, are just what I needed for ALL of my feminine needs. The price is also a big plus for me. If you like to change your panty-liner frequently, especially during hot weather, these are truly for you. I've already given a package to another woman my age and she loves them too, specifically because they multi-task and are so thin. If you aren't sure - try a smaller package first but the best bargain is the Subscribe & Save with the 92 Count. I don't ever want to be without these. With coupons, I often pick up the smaller packs for 40 cents when out in the grocery stores since I keep these stashed everywhere now! I have them in my car, my office, my briefcase, my Clutch purse and o course, at home. Best wishes to other multi-tasking 40 something gals with young children, full-time jobs and a desire to still be a Fashionista! It ain't easy but this flexiable pad was made for US! trust me on this.

Not What They Were...
I've been a loyal customer of the Carefree panty liners for years now, and I've watched as the quality has steadily declined. It's got to the point now where I am disgusted...Why make a big statement that they are "Extra Long" when they are only as long as they should be, and hardly that now? Why specify "body shape" when what they really mean is "not as wide as you'd prefer"? They are very thin now, the material they're made with now is much poorer quality than once upon a time, flimsy, in fact.Sure, I know about the economy issues that we are all trying to cope with, but this ripping off of loyal customers surely must have some point where it stops?Anyway, yes, this product still does the job, what there is of the size and width of the liner, but not as well as they once did. Yes, I'll still buy them, but I'm on the watch for a better product. I'm really disappointed in what Carefree panty liners have deteriorated to.As another reviewer stated, a lot of us are older and rely on this type of product for different needs than a younger woman would. It's got so that these days I've yet to find anything that even seems to realize the actual size an adult woman requires in a panty liner, for optimal protection. But after all my negative remarks, I will state that if you have not used this brand yet, and are considering it, it is the closest thing to what used to be standard size and absorbency that can be found nowadays.

Better than I expected
I am amending my review from 3 to 4 stars.I will not rate any pad 5 stars unless the actual dimensions if the pad are printed on the package. These pads are the most comfortable to wear that I have tried. They stay put, the adhesive also the best I have tried. And pretty absorbent to be as thin as they are. I am going to try the long longs next time. 8.5 inches long, measured in center vertically2.5inches across center2.6 inches at widest point on endThin depth of pad, maybe 1/8th inch. Why do they never put the actual dimensions of the pad on the label?? You do not know until you open the package. So disgusting!!

They Work
I purchased these because I was scheduled to have an abdominal surgery on Feburary 14th that would have resulted in a significant incision. The surgeon's office decided to stop practicing the day before my procedure, so I've not had the occasion to use them.I consulted with friends and family before purchasing (because I don't have a habit of buying feminine hygiene products). They cautioned me that CareFree was not a durable or trustworthy brand. I tested the product with water, and it worked relatively well. The bandages were due to be changed at least every 12 hours... so, my concern clearly wasn't whether or not they would manage to sop up the result of the Exxon Valdez incident, but rather that they would keep my shirt dry and my wound protected long enough for me to get home (or to a restroom) to change the bandage on my abdomen. For this purpose, they would have worked well. The adhesive on the back is excellent. They are somewhat absorbent, sufficiently long to cover an incision from the mediastanum to the top of the navel, and have no discernible odor.

Difficult to find locally
When you get used to a particular thing in a particular brand, you want what you want, not necessarily what they carry in the brick and mortar store. The only reason for four stars is that these are the "to go" style. Although you can see the "to go" in the picture of the product, it isn't stated in the description. However, since it isn't even possible to get the "extra long" style in the regular style (slightly thicker), I'll take the "to go" iteration of the product. For some reason they stopped carrying these at Target and they're increasingly difficult to find anywhere. I do not care for the other brands available in stores and this fills the bill for the most part.
