No way to stick into ground without destroying the top end
First of all, I know all these types of instant hose posts are pretty much the same with the same flaws. But it's still important to point out, there is no way to stick the post into the ground far enough without using a small sledge hammer or other pounding method of choice. And when you pound the top end of that post, you end up destroying it (see pic). To make things worse, this yard butler does not have an angled sharp end to cut into the ground, so it takes extra pounding to get it into the ground far enough to make it stable. You can probably take some sort of auger drill bit and drill a hole into the ground first, but that would leave the post in place less stable since the surrounding dirt would be loose. Or you can set it in concrete, but then pouring concrete is what we are trying to avoid with this type of yard hose posts. Aside from the installation flaw, once the post is in the ground far enough to be stable, it sits very low to the ground (see pic). It would have been a lot better if it was at least another foot higher IMO. For my application, I did not use the built in spigot, instead I added a hose splitter and tied it down with wire ties. In any case, innate flaws aside, the yard butler does what it is suppose to do.

Poorly Manufactured
I recently purchased 7 of the Yard Butler HCF-3 Free-Standing Garden Hose Extenders, to up my total to 9. Of the two I purchased from Amazon, one leaks all over the place. (I had an identical issue with my first purchase of Yard Butlers over a year ago.)In order to understand this product, you have to break it down into its 4 component parts:1. A steel four foot pole that should be embedded in concrete according to the distributor to maintain stability.2. A semi-round hose rack that is welded to the four foot pole.3. A brass faucet to hook your extension hose to.4. A female hose connection in the back to connect to your main water source.I followed the instructions and set the poles in concrete. That means I can’t return them as they now easily weigh 30 – 40 pounds. They don’t caution you about this, but you should first check the product for leaks before embedding the pole in concrete.Back to the component parts; the pole is made of steel, is hollow and provides a firm support if embedded in concrete. The semi-round hose rack is strong and provides a good foundation for storing your hose. (I doubt that it will hold 150’ of standard hose however.) The brass faucet is the big problem; mine had hair line cracks in it as did the one I bought a year ago. You have to wonder how a forged piece of brass can leak like this but then you conclude it was manufactured in some foreign country with no quality control standards in place. I had to go to Home Depot and swap out the manufacturer’s faucet with a better quality one that I paid for. If you have some good channel locks or a wrench you can remove and replace the faucet. I expect that I will have to do this with more of them in the future. The female hose connector on the back, while not defective, raises challenges because they leaked in 5 out of 7 of the Yard Butler’s that I purchased. I ended up using a lot of plumbers tape on the end of the hose and then had to stuff a second washer into the female connector to stop the leaks. I used a high quality 6’ leader hose to make my connections. The customer service department replied promptly when I contacted them but they never reimbursed me for the $7.00 replacement faucet I had to purchase. Even though I purchased 9 of these over the past two years, I would not recommend this product unless you have a lot of patience and some basic plumbing skills. If I ever need another one, I will search for another brand or manufacturer.

Fantastic customer service
I purchased the Yard Butler with faucet in the spring of 2020. Now, two years later, a brass sleeve inside the faucet developed an issue resulting in a bad water leak behind the faucet. I phoned Customer Service and conversed with an extremely polite gentlemen for about 15 minutes. He asked me to send photos of the problem and promised a prompt response. I emailed the photos and in less than 24 hours I received an email saying that the part causing the problem was very difficult to replace so they were shipping me a new replacement Yard Butler (with faucet) at no expense to me. THESE FOLKS ARE GREAT TO DEAL WITH!

Great way to get water from house to my gardens
I have three of these leading from my water sources to my gardens which are 50 to 150 feet from the gardens. They all manage the distance well. the faucet connection is well made and fits securly. The reason I am giving it four stars is two fold. They are relatively short when sunk into the ground to the recommended level and it makes it somewhat awkward to put a hose on the holder. If you don't use your hoses every day or so like I do it would not matter. The second reason I give it a 4 star is that it is hard to stabilize. I have two sunk into the ground without concrete and one with and they all wobble some. It is not a big deal to me since I don't ask mine to do anything but provide the faucet so it does not really matter. If you had a heavy hose on them it would probably be an irritation. I am very pleased with mine. They are a far better solution to get water to my gardens that I had ever hoped I would find. I installed them, hooked my hoses up and just forgot them--they are reliable and they work perfectly since I found other places to secure my hoses.

Handsome and Sturdy Yard Butler
This is a very strong, functional and aesthetically pleasing hose hanger. It's color (soft green) and finish (smooth reflective surface) are perfect. I have not hooked up the built-in faucet yet but it's solid brass so there is no reason to suspect that it won't work properly. (I have my hose directly connected to the wall faucet.) I researched and thought about purchasing one of the hidden reel-type storage boxes but they sounded like they break often and require careful effort to reel-up. With the Yard Butler I can just loop the hose on the hanger while standing up and be done with it. It requires a little work to install but it's well worth it. It may work fine installing it "as is" in a 30 lb lump of Sacrete but I went the extra distance to guarantee an immovable installation. I drilled two 9/32" holes about 2" apart in the bottom of the hanger stem (easy drilling!) and inserted two 1/4" dia. 9" steel rods through the holes at 90 degrees to each other. The Sacrete fills between the rods, as well as around the hangar stem, and guarantees that the hangar is rock solid in the ground. I'm ordering my second one right now for the other side of the house.

but i couldn't find anyone else who sold anything like it. You can get a two way splitter ...
It even tells you how to cement it in. It is very solid and very well made. Not only does it work well and save me from thrashing the bushes to find the damn hose, but i couldn't find anyone else who sold anything like it. You can get a two way splitter for your hose but that doesn't more the tap fifteen feet closer to your garden. I'm going to add one to the front yard. I don't worry about it freezing up because I'll just pull it out or disconnect the joining hose in winter.

Finally a water spigot near the garden!
This is great, coupled with a short hose to attach to house tap on other side of a gate. Would buy again!

A great addition to your garden
Exactly as shown. I did have to attach it to the ground with a piece of rebar to give it extra strength.
