I am pleased with this purchase! The crib mattress is a bit thin but this is proper padding for a baby so they don't press their face into it or get their nose buried in too much fluff and suffocate. It stretches tight across the crib mattress, providing a safe surface that doesn't sag or come untucked at the corner and entangle your baby.The top of the crib mattress pad has a soft, white, fine loop terry surface, similar to a towel but incredibly soft. This is very absorbent. It will easily handle urine and baby bottle spills if you put your child to bed with a bottle because let's face it, we all did that, especially when they were sick and sucking on a bottle helped relieve the pressure in their clogged ears. This mattress pad will also help protect the crib mattress from vomit and the HORRIBLE, lingering smells that mess can leave. My first born inherited a queasy stomach from my dad and threw up every single time his temperature rose above 99 degrees. And I mean every time. He threw up at least once every month until he was three just from catching common cold bugs that raised his body temperature. (When I was a kid, I used to fear having to clean up puke whenever it was my turn to become a mom and wanted to avoid that as much as possible. Naturally I had a baby who threw up ten times more than every other kid!) This mattress pad is SO worth the investment to save yourself from having to buy a replacement crib mattress if they vomit and you cannot get the smell out! You can throw the protector away if the sour vomit smell just will not wash out but throwing out a crib mattress because the entire nursery smells like puke no matter how much you scrub is a LOT more expensive! This is a fantastic mattress protector! My little one isn't here yet, but I went ahead and put this on the mattress and tested it out with water. It does exactly what it is suppose to do when it comes to wetness; it keeps it off the mattress. The thing about this cover that I like better than others I have used is how soft it is. I have another one, and it is much stiffer. The bamboo on this one makes it feel very plush. It's almost more like a pad for extra comfort with the way it feels to me. the bamboo terry is so soft, I could easily lay an naked newborn on it and not worry about it feeling rough on their delicate skin. I plan to use this as my main protector for the mattress.I received this product at a discount for my honest review. This review is all my own honest opinion.
