Excellent Quality for the Money
I needed some small speakers for an apartment and am so glad I found these. I went to Best Buy and tested speakers for about an hour. These were the best speakers for the price which is why they were probably all sold out. I checked out Amazon, and their price was ten bucks cheaper than Best Buy - plus the shipping was free! You can't go wrong with the crystal clear highs, no hissing, and surprising bass from these little speakers...definitely two thumbs up.

Excellent surround sound speakers
I'm using these as the surround speakers (with larger Sony speakers in the front) and couldn't be more pleased. Sound is crisp and clean, and bass response is surprisingly good. My only quibble: no provisions for mounting (mine are on the wall, and I had to drill and pray). I have a pair of slightly larger Polk bookshelf speakers in my office, and these Sonys are almost as good for half the price.

don't give yourself headaches
I wanted something cheap for at work along with a small 20W dc amp. save your money pick up the daytons B652 instead. These had a smaller profile but terrible sound. I never liked sony one more reason on that list. Ear fatigue within 20 mins. AV 40's from M-audio are a perfect low but very clean budget sound. wait till blk friday deals or be patient all in under a 140 shipped for years of enjoyment. Why not? Life will give you plenty of head aches, why give yourself one stay away

sound ok to me
these are just fine when used in conjunction with a separate subwoofer. they replaced a very fine set of ads monitors that I had for years and I haven't noticed any loss of sound. plus they are priced very well and take up so little room. definitely would buy again.

OK for the price
I paired these with a 10" Athena sub to replace some very old Boston Acoustics A150 three ways I bought back in the 80's. Well, I got what I paid for. These are functional speakers, but there is no clarity. When I originally bought my A150's 20 years ago, I compared the Boston Acoustic 2 way (A100) to the 3 way and noticed a vocal clarity difference in the 150's. Well, I just lost it. These little speakers have crisp tweeters, but the pseudo-woofer just can't reproduce midrange elements (vocal, piano, etc). I'll keep these speakers since they are pretty cheap and can be used elsewhere. Now I need to find some similar sized speakers that will bring back the vocal clarity I just lost. Guess I need to get a crowbar and pry open my wallet. Or, honestly, go to a local store and do a listen test. That's the only way to do an honest comparison. I wonder if I can find a little pair of 3 ways...

for desktop
I bought these to attach to my laptop and sit on my desktop, small size was important. The fractional watt headphone amplifier in the laptop is enough to push these to reasonable volume. A visit to radio shack and some quick soldering produced a cable. Not exactly hi-fi, but better than the 1 1/2 inch speakers in the laptop. The real use is listening to radio web streams while I work, and playback of my ripped CD collection.

GREAT LITTLE SPEAKER!
I've got three pairs of these and love the sound. I like a lot of base and these little units really pump it out! Let's face it, if you are looking for reference quality sound you will need to spend a whole lot more money than these cost!

Sony speakers
I have purchased two sets of these speakers from the same company and have been very satisfied with the company and the product. I was looking for a set of small inexpensive bookshelf speakers and these more than fit the bill. Workmanship is very good and the sound quality is ample for what I wanted. For the price, I found these speakers to be a bargain.
