99-2000 civic might be missing some instructions
The installation instructions are ok, at best. They tell you which tabs to remove, and which tabs to leave but not all of the tabs are actually labeled on the one I received. I installed in a 99 civic and that requires you to leave tabs "B" and "H" and I could find B, but not H. and I'm not sure if the unmarked tabs were supposed to be removed or not? So I just left B and what might have been H and removed the labeled ones. Then I sat in the car, tried to push it back and removed all of the ones that blocked me from seating it correctly until I was left with 4 unmarked tabs, and 2 "B" tabs.Once installed, it's nice. It fits better than some radio kits I've installed but I remember Metra being a really high-quality fit and finish product and I'm not sure this one is still that nice. I have installed multiple Metra kits in that same body style Civic over the years and I think this is the 3rd iteration I've used. It's not the nicest but then again, it fits almost every Honda made in that year so I guess they're making fewer styles to fit more products since these vehicles are aging.

Works but the instructions are HORRIBLE!!!
I own a 2004 Honda CRV. I purchased this kit in order to install a new Kenwood KDC-152 head unit to replaced the original OEM unit in my car.The kit itself fits fairly well. There is a small gap (~1/32") that is not properly covered by the bezel. Once installed, the head unit is held in solid.I would say that this kit should only be used by those people who have a fairly high confidence in their skill level. The instruction book does not mention which specific set of steps to follow for my car even though the kit's documentation claims to fit my car. There are many sets of instructions, one for each model of car that the kit fits. followed the instructions for the 2002 CRV. It seemed to work. The first set of instructions tell you to remove "all tabs except H and M". There are no tabs marked H. I had to eyeball the the insert to make my best guess as to which one the instructions referred too. I was lucky and got the correct one. There are also many tabs that are NOT marked in any way. If you follow the instructions literally, you would remove these unmarked tabs. These tabs are important to hold the head unit securely in the dash.Through out the install process, I was always prepared to toss the kit and get a different brand.

useless instructions
build quality felt decent. came with tuns of brackets and adapters a few screws to attach adapters. the instructions where hot garbage. don't even bother. just look up a youtube tutorial how to remove your current radio and from there use your imagination on what to do. i wound up not even using the suggested adapter for my odyssey. i didn't need the extra fingers sticking out everywhere and the extra bolts securing it in the back. the friction fit in the dash was plenty to hold it in place. i just used the 2 side adapters that allowed me to screw the radio in (did not include the hardware for this) however i was able to rummage through my hardware bin and find what i needed. if your handy with lego and DIY its a great purchase. otherwise i would suggest having somebody install the unit for you.bottom line. best use i got from the manual was starting the charcoal grill.

I was able to do it, and I'm a clueless chick
I have no idea how to do most things. Not even just car things, I just really have a hard time trying to figure stuff out. I get easily frustrated. This thing was one of the easiest tasks I've tried to complete for my car. Thanks for making it simple for people like me

Works great in 1998 Honda Accord
I got this kit to replace another dash kit that I had manhandled and broke. It all came in a sealed plastic bag and had an instruction booklet with the different supported car models. I found the instructions for my 1998 Honda Accord and read through the instructions carefully. They are very basic, and not entirely complete, but if you are handy enough to replace your own dash kit, I think you'll be able to read between the lines.I had read some of the other reviews before I bought it, so I was very cautious about removing tabs, so I didn't remove any until I had removed the old dash kit and confirmed what should be removed. For my car, the instructions were okay, though I did have to remove a few more of the tabs so it would fit properly. My dash looks 100% better. I'm very satisfied.

Decent quality
The kit is made of decent quality plastic, and the instructions are easy to follow... I read reviews prior to purchasing, saying that the tabs weren't labelled so they didn't know which ones to break off; they are all labelled. Again, decent quality, however the trim doesn't fit "perfectly", when I installed it in my '93 Accord, I noticed the top of the bezel was slightly too wide for the factory fitting (where the tabs go in).Overall I'm satisfied! My radio doesn't move around anymore, and it looks good!

Poor quality doesn’t match up well with Honda CR-V install.
The product was cheaply made and did not match up well with 2002-2006 Honda CRV. You will notice slight gaps after the install and the hardware wasn’t right for my install. Your also forced to use the generic trim ring that comes with the item instead of the one supplied with your head unit.

03 Honda CR-V
Used this for putting a new deck in my 03 Honda CR-V. Pretty straight forward. Like most reviews say the instructions are a bit funny so I just pushed it in place then removed the clips after seeing which ones didn’t allow it to sit flush. Did the trick. Happy with the result

Wont buy again
The kit was bent at bottom slightly so bottom layer looks curved at bottomThere were incomplete and wrong instructions for 2002 Honda crvI tried the paper manual that came with the kit and online manual for same kit by metra and both had different instructionsI tried the way the paper manual said and its loose inside the dash , I can pull the complete assembly out by handIt's not clipped in or bolted to anything just sits in the hole and rattles and shakes and thieves can just pull the assembly and take the stereoPositive points -1 plastic is of decent quality2 it's a good design but wrong or incomplete instructions or just doesn't work for 2002-2004 crvI have already broken the extra tabs as instructed by manaul and payed for installationI can't pay somebody 80$ again to replace itU can see the gap as I pull on it in the pics

Ordered this for my '99 Honda Civic DX, it ...
Ordered this for my '99 Honda Civic DX, it fit perfectly and wasn't very hard to assemble. The cubby is quite small and it feels a bit flimsy is my only reason for not giving 5 stars.
