sturdy and does the job
couldn't find anything locally except the plastic garbage ones that break in less than a year and others pretty expensive around the web. however this one came up and reviews pointed to a much less expensive effective product. got ours today and it does the job was straightforward and sturdy and does the job intended. don't bother finding out which topper or other item you have needing this only to pay way too much for the name brand as this will fill the bill and great price and we also got free shipping. hats off JR products.

Works on 5/16 square shaft handles
It's made of steel and has a 5/16 square hole which fit perfect to replace broken part on my old camper shell.

Suitable replacement
These are a good direct replacement for the broken latches on my canopy. They worked loose in just a few days, so I drilled a small indent in the square rod these attach to so the screw sets in the indent preventing them from slipping and I put a drop of blue loctite on the screws to prevents them from working loose. Otherwise very happy with the purchase.

Cam ok, threads useless.
This attaches with a set screw, which makes it universal. The threads in the body stripped immediately when I tried to tighten the screw with a small screwdriver. Pretty terrible. Being that it is so cheap I’ll keep it and fashion up some spacers and a mug on the end. The cam itself is fine but the material is too soft to hold threads.

Now I can lock my truck cap again. Works great, hasn't come off even once in the past year, and I use my cap hatch a lot. Glad I bought it, and would recommend to anyone.

Flawed design
I wanted to like this product, but the design has a major flaw. The body material is far too soft. This leads to the threads stripping out when attempting to tighten the set screw during installation. Would recommend finding a different cam with better material strength.

Simple, gets the job done.
Installed this yesterday. Unless they changed the screw I had no problem with stripping anything out. Works fine on my camper shell latch. I dont drive this truck in winter so hopefully it holds up since it wont see salt.
