great addition to my routine
I'm a huge fan of natural sunscreens, and SALT & STONE Lip Balm SPF 30 is a great addition to my routine. I love that this balm is made with all good ingredients, it is super hydrating and keeps my lips feeling soft and smooth all day long. It does not have that funky smell of lip balms with SPF. Occasionally, the balm can leave a slight white cast on my lips, especially if I apply a thicker layer. This is the only drawback I've noticed. Despite the occasional white cast, I really like this lip balm. It's natural, hydrating, and protects my lips from the sun. I just apply a thinner layer if I'm worried about the white cast. For the pros, I can definitely deal with that! This is a great option for anyone looking for a natural SPF lip balm.

Moisturizing and protects from the sun
I'm prone to freckles so I do my best to avoid getting more. I like to think that this is protecting my lips while keeping them moisturized. There's no real taste to it so that's nice. Kind of overpriced.

Best SPF lip balm out there
I’ve been in search of a non-drying lip balm with mineral SPF because I cannot stand the taste or smell of chemical SPFs. Most mineral SPF lip balms are drying or leave a really obvious white cast but not this. I find this just as moisturizing as the Burts Bees lip balm (non-SPF) I used to use. I do see a tiny bit of a cast to it, but anytime I put on lip balm and am going out I usually apply some kind of tint or gloss on top of it which immediately makes it less noticeable. I remember being grumpy at the $10 price point but when I went to order another tube just now after running out, I realized I first bought this over a year ago. Given that I’ve used this most every day (usually several times a day in the spring and summer) I’m surprised at how long it lasted and am no longer grumpy about the cost.

High $$ but Highly Effective
I received a stick of this in a Christmas stocking three years ago. It is extremely effective in applying moisture to my lips. First sign of cracking or use against the sun's rays, this is a wonder product. It never leaves my bedside table and is the ONLY chapstick I have ever gone through the entire tube.

SPF 30 LIP BALM
Love your spf 30 lip balm, not too greasy but does moisturize well. I hope to purchase the sunscreen and day/night moisturizer, hopefully with a discount!

Not their standard
I love love this brands’ other products but to be honest the lip balm was a fail. There’s zero scent, which is what they’re known for. It almost smells like crayons which I can’t do. Not worth $10.

Update w/1 less star - Pricey! But best SPF lip balm I've tried.
I gave this 4 stars a few weeks ago (below) but I'm knocking one off! After only 4-5 uses it stopped twisting down which is a HUGE pet peeve. I still like the balm but may not buy again because it's now stuck 1/4" up and I have to be super careful to avoid a mess.Original Review:It's surprisingly hard to find a physical only SPF lip balm! Especially higher than SPF 15! And if I find one it leaves a thick white goo that looks ridiculous and dries out my lips.As a lip balm snob I've tried dozens and have very few favorites. This Salt and Stone lip balm is very moisturizing and long-lasting without being greasy and it's not chalky or gritty either. I feel safe using the safe and/or natural ingredients close to my mouth. It's almost (but not quiiite) good enough to grab even when I don't need the SPF.It's not completely transparent but the cast is impressively minimal, which for SPF 30 is almost a miracle. A tiny dab of tinted balm solves the issue. So far it hasn't melted but it's soft so I see the potential for that and will stick it in a small container just in case if I'm going to take it to the pool or beach. As for sun protection....I can't really say for sure. I've never had a sunburn on my lips but I'm all for being preventative.Four stars instead of five because it's pretty pricey. $10 for a single, regular size tube is a little extravagant.
