Raw black soap is generally made with plantain skins, a good source of Vitamins A and E as well as iron. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps your skin retain its health and moisture. Vitamin A keeps your skin young and fights wrinkles and spots. Iron may also strengthen your skin and hair.

Decent, but prefer paste
Seems to be authentic black soap although the packaging wasn't the best. It wasn't fully wrapped and some of the soap was exposed. I still prefer the tub of black soap in a paste form but the reviews weren't too good on those lately so I am trying this one out.

This African black soap was very old and defected. I tried to wash my face with this and it left me with heavy rashes and burn marks on my face, leaving my face very sensitive.

Amazing soap and a good deal. I got 4-5 bars out of this block.
The media could not be loaded. This is the only soap I use now. I'm thoroughly converted. It also lasts such a long time. It has honestly cleared up my body acne. This one is a little different than some others I've tried because it has honey in it. Although this bar of soap is freaky looking at first, it will quickly become your favorite. I was never able to use bar soap since I was a kid because it would break me out. Not the case with this soap.Check out the ingredients: honey, Shea butter, carmwood, cocoa pod powder, plantain peel powder, palm kernel oil, coconut oil, water, aloe Vera. This is a pure and natural product. A pound is basically 4-5 large soap bars, so for the price it really is a good deal. You can dissolve some soap in a bottle of water and make body soap or any other kind of soap. If you want to use it as a substitute for shampoo, then I do recommend using a baking soda and vinegar rinse to get residue out from the Shea butter. If you have darker hair then I think it wouldn't be as important, but it could be important if you have fine hair.I have no complaints. I beg everyone I know who also has skin problems to try this soap.I do follow up with the oil cleaning method afterwards. I use quarter sized amount of jojoba oil and a dime sized amount of castor oil after washing nightly. Sometimes, I wash my face every other day. I love it.I did receive a free sample, but all of my opinions are honest and unbiased.
