Great Motor and Easy to Replace
After 12 years my GE Profile washer stopped spinning at the last spinning cycle and the clothes were sopping wet. I thought it would be easier to just buy a new one, but after a lot of study it was a much better choice for me to attempt to replace the motor. I did have a service guy come and tell me that the motor was bad (cost $90 for this) and that for him to replace this it would be about $750 total. I still considered this, but decided to do more research. What I found was that I could buy this motor for $260 and watching U-Tube videos I learned it was fairly easy to do. My decision to do this was based on the fact that this generation of washer was one of the last where the repairs could be done from the front by removing the panel. Newer washers must be fixed from the back. Also, my laundry space is very tight and most of the new washers are bigger and deeper and higher, and have a slanted top surface where nothing can be stored or even placed. I have a custom panel on top of my washer and dryer as well as special paint, so for me fixing it was a no brainer. It took me about 45 minutes to replace the motor and it works great!A few suggestions: Find the U-Tube video for your model first. 1) If you pull the top front of the control panel cover off, you will find the MFG instructions for the error codes- 6= bad motor- This is what I paid the service guy to do. 2) The new (superseded) replacement motor has the connectors in a sightly different order but is easy to figure out. 3) You will need a small socket set to get in and under the motor to remove. 4) I bought the belt install tool kit, but didn't need it as it was not to hard to reinstall. If you buy a new belt (tighter) you will probably need the kit. Hope this helps!

Perfect Fit - Like New Washer
Perfect fit no issues. The most challenging part was the install of the belt... be sure to follow the instructions when installing the belt back on. Otherwise, it took a total of 5 mins to accomplish.

Worked Perfectly
Indeed we had a burned out motor. Not too difficult to install. My washer is back in action.
