COAST FL75R Rechargeable LED Headlamp

It's rare to find a product so packed with features that add value and convenience to the end user. This is based on out-of-the-box perceptions. I haven't put it to a hard test yet. A 4 night camp-out next week will show if it lives up to expectations. I'll edit this review if it doesn't live up. I'm most impressed with the flexibility and power. First it comes with rechargeable lithium ion batteries. The supplied battery pack can be charged in or out of the headlamp. There's a charging port on the lamp and another on the pack. So if you run it down you can charge the pack while operating the lamp on backup batteries. And this is the beauty, it's designed to also operate on standard AAA batteries. And it comes with high quality Duracell* alkaline batteries as a backup. This is invaluable to back packers as with current technology the best backup per weight is still extra batteries instead of some charging system. But there's more. It comes with a USB charger and BOTH AC and car lighter power adapters! So charge it anywhere. And it uses the same standard USB cable that my Android devices use, not something proprietary. Big kudos for that. Now down to the light itself. It's bright! 530 lumens. Plus 2 power saving lower settings. The highest setting is very bright in my living room in daylight on a bright sunny day. I think it would be blinding for close work but great for cycling. On top of that it has red LED's for night time and conserving your dark adaption. As an amateur astronomer that's very important to me. Now about the mechanical properties of the unit. It's solid. The switches seem just as solid as the 2 previous Coast headlamps I've own. The strap stays adjusted. The tilt works well and clicks firmly into the various positions. The battery door is easily accessible and well-built like the rest of the unit. The focusing knob is smooth and steady. Overall the unit just screams 'Premium' in every way. Yeah, it's expensive. But you know what they say, cry once. I will be buying more of these as gifts for friends and family.

Great light that you can charge when it gets dim no replace some batteries

Damn bright!! So bright that I put my flashlight away and started using this headlamp for everything! Camping, hunting, fishing, working on my truck and I keep it by the bed just in case of an emergency. It has a great focus beam that seems to go forever and a good flood focus that’s always useful when walking around camp. The battery life is great, it lasts for at least 4 hours straight on high. Would 100% recommend this light and I will be buying my father one for Christmas this year !

Works swimmingly. Bright when you really need it. Comfy, doesn't burn my forehead when I leave it on for three hours straight.

This product is very convenient to use and is easily recharged. I don’t think it stays charged quite as long as described in the product description however it is easy to just plug it in every other time I use it to go out and feed the critters on my farm. The green light lets you know when it is done being charged. I’m glad I purchased this item and use it nearly every day. It has high, medium and low light and you can also focus the lightbeam into a narrow or wide beam. I would highly recommend it.

Very bright but battery only lasts a little over an hour of continuous light. 1 hr and 21 mins to be exact and then it’s very dimmed, I Was hopping it lasted a bit longer, disappointed. It takes a long time to charge also.Did not work for me, I need it to last at least 6 hrs. I just did not buy the right light for my need. But light is good quality and very bright, I can still use it around the house.

This headlamp is great. Light is bright. Battery life is very good, and the light quality with the focusing beam is excellent. The rechargable feature is terrific, and saves burning through batteries. Two minor concerns keep it from being 5 stars. The headlamp is very easy to turn on accidentally. The on/off button can get turned on while bouncing around in your pack. No good way to keep this from happening unless you remove the batteries, which is a pain. The other issue is that the red led isn't really focused, so it tends to shine in your eyes when it's on. Overall, a good light, but not quite perfect.

For the weight this is a great head lamp. it is very adjustable, including the focus for the light beam! A great quality headlamp for the money! Also it's great that it's rechargeable! It last a good couple hours and is easy to charge!

This is a great product. Had the older version with no rechargeable battery. This new one is AMAZING. The options to use rechargeable battery and normal AAA battery makes this products great. It allows me to use this products for long periods of time. I will be buying it again for gifts for my friends in the Electrical trade. 100% satisfied with this product. EXCELLENT

Been using this headlamp for 2 years now with no issues, very bright and very comfortable. I often find myself wearing it for hours and not realizing. I ended up purchasing a second battery, that way I have sufficient battery for the whole day. Very durable light, its been dropped in oil, welded beside, dropped from heights and it still works perfect no issues.

Great product but somewhat expensive. The USB recharging is excellent! I am recharging in the car while driving to my fishing spots. Very convenient!
