Not for secular families looking to avoid cultural stereotypes
I didn't realize this was a Christian-centered book. I wouldn't have bought it had I know it had a section stating Jesus walked on water and a picture of white Jesus. (I take responsibility as I missed the picture that said "God gave us our families.")It also referred to Inuit as "Eskimo" which is falling out of favor. In addition, the section on Kenya has a family living in a dirt hut. Other areas will show a combination of images of a city as well as traditional villages but not Kenya, even though it also has big cities and modern towns.If you are not Christian or prefer a secular and more modern, less stereotypical look at the world, skip this book.
