Useful for testing for damp!
Great product for testing the walls and beams of our house following a leak. Good point; easy to read display. Bad points, it's difficult to get the cap off the sensor and it does not store the value for a few seconds, so trying to measure under floor boards is tricky as you cannot see the reading!

Does what we want at a great price
Super bit of kit for the money, though the instructions could be a tad less vague

Worked fine but the problem turned out to be salt but worked as no damp.
Worked fine their was no damp it read 1.4 which is nothing but turned out its salt from old morter. So didn't save money in the end still needed injection and render .

Manual very unclear
I'm not sure if this is a good meter or not. The instruction manual is unclear.

Good Damp meter
Used product to test damp in caravan. Easy to use and compact. Very good accuracy.

Accuracy is more likely to be "close to" than "spot-on".
Bought for use on my outside-stored caravan and does its job well.

A tool more for the professional, IMO ~ requires 2 x AAA batteries (thoughtfully supplied)
Note from the manual for when using for wood:📝 ‘Always measure the wood along the grain.’The MOISTURE METER came complete with a USER’S MANUAL, which is relatively self explanatory, IMO, but the key point is that one needs to be able to understand the readings being shown to establish if a problem exists, hence this is a tool for the professional, IMO.Some form of table or guide would be helpful for the amateur user to help interpret the readings and whether further investigation from a specialist might be required.ooOooThe moisture meter I received is accurate as per the 'INSTRUMENT TEST POINT', detailed on page 2/NOTE 6 (images below refer).Neatly packed in a durable, ‘Velcro™’-type close, lightly textured, soft case with fabric handle & elasticated side panels within a branded cardboard box, the rubberised-type finish moisture meter is a nice shape in hand.Slightly different to the current product detail, the one I received measures around 14.5 cm x 4 cm (max) x 1.75 cmThe 2 x AAA batteries are supplied in a separate pack and are easy to install, once you undo (a bit of a challenge) the cross-head screw on the compartment on the back. The top pulls off (needs a bit of strength, in my experience) to reveal 2 mega-sharp prongs! The buttons are clear, with SET being the one to SELECT from the 7 types of material offered, which are described on page 5 of the manual, from wood to brick. This button also changes the ambient temperature & humidity between ‘C’ & ‘F’.The moisture meter shuts off automatically if not used for around 10 minutes. From the current product description:📝 ‘When the battery is low, the clear LCD display shows a low voltage icon, indicating that the energy is low at that time and the battery needs to be replaced.’11 images attached
