No Ads! No Hackers! Perfect for Writers! AMAZING device you've never heard of!
I bought mine from LarryliBooks. In perfect shape! I need to know if it saves the docs after I load them into my Mac, but what i DO know, is no more Hackers screwing up my novels, letters, emails, poems. No more Ads, streaming across, below and side to side on my Mac screen! This little device is lightweight, give you enough screen to follow what you're doing, fits my lap holder (normally for laptop), and when the file is completed, I can SEND the entire text to my iMac. Plug it into the back of the Mac with enclosed USB and sit back and watch your words load into Pages (or whatever you've got on your computer). This even auto corrects! It is a miracle. There is a way to connect to your printer from the Neo2 but I don't know how to do that. I just print out my word from the Mac, then erase my Mac doc after storing it on my Flash drive. No more Hackers, , cause Neo2 needs NO electricity, NO WiFi, and they can't do squat. I even load my files from Neo to the Mac when the WiFi is turned OFF. A gift from Heaven, this little device! All sorts of stuff you expect on a keyboard, QWERTY, 8 Files, you must use the direction keys to move the cursor around. Make sure you get the cord with the Neo2 Alphasmart Word Processor so you can upload your work to your computer. It's a cable which fits into the back of the Neo2 and connect to the back of your Mac. I'm a Senior Lady with bad vision and no computer smarts and this device is marvelous. You have to push those keys harder than a Mac keyboard but it's no big deal. Easier than a typewriter! I LOVE IT, LaryLiBooks! A+++++

Epic! Seller exceeded expectations.
My son wanted to be able to write his schoolwork on something that was guaranteed not to harvest anything for marketing or AI after the old laptop from the basement he set up with Linux had a hard drive failure. We have a more current laptop, but it's too heavy and uncomfortable to actually use on your lap and you can't trust Windows not to change your settings during an update. It also has a lot of options for distractions on it. Bonus: no one can accuse him of using a GPT to do his work because this thing doesn't even connect to the internet. You plug it into a computer when you're done and it types out your file in whatever text app you're using, so he can still use it with a Linux virtual machine without the distractions of a Linux virtual machine. The only AI it has is a spell checker (technically a form of AI) from 2007, and you can't play Doom on it. Yet. That said, the one he received literally looked brand new and works great. No sticky keys, no corrosion in the battery compartment. It was a good investment.

Extremely short cable but good product
I should have bought 2, to have one as a reserve. It is a good product but it's old tech which is a good thing for writers trying to stay off their computers. Anything you type you can transfer to your computer by the USB cable included with the device. You have to download the Neo manager from the website. With it you can add programs called applets or remove programs from the device to free up space. I believe the seller gives the instruction or web link somewhere in the questions or in the advertisement. You can download a typing tutor program, practice simple math and of course you can write. There are 8 files. and each file holds about 10,000 words. Regular AA batteries come with it but I have ordered lithium Ion rechargeable batteries so I do not have to worry about losing files if the batteries die which I have read could happen. I have read the batteries last a very very long time also. The keyboard is regular size without the number pad section. The numbers are at the top. There is spell check and word count, paragraph count but no grammar check. There is thesaurus. Ctrl w for word count Ctrl t for thesaurus. There is a quick reference guide on the back. You can change font size for your preference, to fit more lines on the screen (which is non demanding on the eyes) or to have larger font to see better. I ordered an extender usb cable since the one that came with it is so short. I hate having to hold the dangling Neo2 up to the tower while trying to transfer a file. There is the possibility to buy other devices that can be used with this like a responder and a receiver to use wireless on the device but I just use it to improve my typing speed and for writing. I really am glad I bought it because writing on it is so easy..no distractions from email notifications or social media or anything. You can take this and sit in the middle of a forest and type. You can password protect your files. The Teacher or Master password is think and the file password is write The text is difficult to see in low light is the only con besides trying to figure out low tech but reading the pdf user manual was a big help. That user manual, by the way, is very extensive. I highly suggest reading it because a quick browse answers most of your questions if not all. If you want to free up space you can always remove the non essential applets by using the Neo Manager program that you should download from the website.
