My 3 cats love this toy! They not only use it, but when one of them plays with it, it is not usual to have one of my babies observe another playing with it, of the activity going on! There is no set up of the product when receiving it. I always observe a toy when my babies play with it; no negative results. I am the type of "mom" who puts any toys away when I am not home, but I really am satisfied with my babies' interest of it, and the top of it has a scratching surface, and no catnip, which I, personally, do not have my babies exposed to it (catnip). A good activity/exercise for them! :)

Yes, this is a cute toy, and built well, definitely worth the price. But my cats don't like it. Neither one of them will play with it. When I flick the mouse, Benjamin will paw at it a little, but they don't play with it on their own. Maybe if it had a catnip mouse inside?

My cats took the mouse out multiple times before the mouse broke off from the wand completely. I haven't been able to find glue that will fix it :( The top isn't really a scratcher. The material is so thin and the toy is so light that even if they try to claw it, it just tips toward them. Totally ineffective in that regard. I throw pom poms and other toy mice in it since they broke it. They fish them around but it's nowhere near as fun as it was when the mouse went round & round. Disappointing kitty toy purchase.

In a house full of foster cats aged from 3 months to 15 years not one kitty played with it more than a few minutes. I own the other toy that looks very much like this with the same concept except the top has a thin "carpet" patch instead of the this toy's cardboard scratcher. That other style toy is a winner- just about every kitten has loved it.Now back to this toy: The problem- the mouse is too slow. It lags around once if the cat is lucky with a strong swat, this just bores my kitties. The kittens did like the scratching abilty with the cardboard but that was it. Also, the openings are huge- I would warn that a kitten can put their head inside the track and potentially get it temporarily stuck... be aware.

While this product is well made, my two cats are older and although they do enjoy tracking it if I have the time to spin it for them, they only once in a while actively swat at it themselves. They have no interest in the scratch pad on top. I believe this toy is better suited for a kitten-like temperament...

My cat really likes this thing! She loves little fuzzy mice toys, which she chases all over the house and loses under the couch and oven. This is a nice alternative because it keeps her totally interested, but she won't ever lose the little mouse inside. It also makes for calmer play, frankly, with less running and jumping parkour-style against the walls of my apartment as she bats a toy mouse down the hall and under my bed or whatever. I'm glad she can keep her little brain engaged when I'm out of the house without getting into too much trouble. Glad I ordered this thing. : )

Glad I purchased this fun toy for my cat!!! She loved it. It’s small so you can easily store it in the house and won’t take up too much room. The cat plays with it for like 5-10 minutes (which is a long time). Highly recommend if you want your cat to get some excerise.

My cat loved this toy! He played with it so much the scratching part came off in chunks... Now it is in 2 separate pieces. I would recommend this if you have a smaller cat who isn't so rough.
