Excellent replacement for halogen bulbs over my kitchen sink
When I replaced the light over my kitchen sink two years ago, I couldn't find an LED fixture that I liked, so I purchased a fixture that used MT16 GU10 halogen bulbs, with the intention of replacing the included bulbs with LEDs when the price of MT16 GU10 LEDs came down. Until recently, MR16 GU10 LED bulbs were considerably more expensive than traditional LED bulbs, but they're now becoming much more affordable. Two years ago, replacing three halogen MR16 GU10s with LEDs would have cost about $60. Now, it costs less than a third of that (at $5.99/bulb).I felt that the original 50-watt halogens in my fixture were a bit too bright for my space, so I decided to replace them with 35-watt LED equivalents. I chose these particular bulbs because they have a 45° beam angle suitable for task (rather than spot) lighting and because they're dimmable. (I wanted dimmable bulbs even though my kitchen light isn't on a dimmer because I have two other light fixtures that take this type of bulb and wanted the flexibility to swap the bulbs out if I didn't like them in my kitchen. The other fixtures still use halogen bulbs. I haven't switched them to LED yet because I haven't found a fan/light combo dimmer that works with LED bulbs.)I installed three of these bulbs about 4 months ago, and I'm very happy with them. They're plenty bright, probably brighter than 35-watt halogens would be. The light is neutral - not as white as the halogens, but not yellow, and I haven't noticed any flickering or buzzing. (I'm very sensitive to buzzing and I can usually detect it even when other people can't.) Like all LEDs, they come on instantly, a big improvement over the fluorescent light fixture I had previously in my kitchen. Not to mention that I've reduced the energy draw of one of the most used light fixtures in my home from 150 watts to 12 watts.Note: I haven't tested these bulbs with a dimmer.

*UPDATE* - Missing one star for light color
*Update 10/9/13*Bulbs are still running fine. The color has mellowed a bit and is now much more like incandescent (to my surprise). I'm now very happy with the bulbs as they finally put off the kind of light that was advertised.*original review below*If you can live with the kind of light that compact fluorescents give off, then you'll be fine with these.Pros1) Extremely low wattage consumption. Example: I have two series of 6 halogen track lights in my condo. When both are on full blast they consume 600 watts total. 300w per strip, 50w per bulb. To put that into perspective a clothes dryer uses 240watts. So it's like running 2.5 dryers anytime they're on full blast. Now, with the LED bulbs when both strips are at full blast i'm using 48 watts. That's a 552watt decrease. That's a big difference.2) These fit into the bulb housing just fine.3) They provide bright light.4) They're dimmable.Cons1) The actual color of the light is not warm white and so far I don't know of any LED that can reproduce true warm like a burning filament can.2) They do emit a tiny buzz when dimmed but it's only noticeable in dead silence when you're close to the bulbs.Overall I'm happy with them. Do I adore the light color? No. But is my utility bill considerably lower? Yes.

Nice bulbs, nice light, a little flicker, good fixture fit.
These bulbs are good, we're happy. There is a very slight flicker at full brightness. I'm very picky about this and it doesn't really bother me, so it's pretty minor. I write this AFTER another review that says they no longer flicker. They DO dim, but not very much and there is more flicker when they dim. They fit in the fixtures very will unlike the 50W ones. They have a very directional throw with no side light, so they're not as wide-angle as the lights they replaced. If your fixture lights up on the side, that part will be dark. That happened to us and it's fine. WAY less energy and run so much cooler! I also got the 50watt version from the same company which are non-dimmable. Side by side, these have a more narrow throw and a slightly greener light. I am very picky about the light color and this is ok with me, it's barely noticeable. It's a nice warm light despite being slightly green. They do dim but not entirely, unlike the 50watt which would strobe. These fit in the fixture very nicely whereas the 50 was a little shorter and didn't fit in all lamps, THESE FIT! I will order more, these will bring 600 watts of kitchen light down to 48 watts and the light is about the same.

Didn't respond well to dimming.
These bulbs worked, were an acceptable size, are a good price, and produced an acceptable light when fully on.That being said, the bulb is a bit small and fits loosely in my 3" Halo gimbal fixture. Not a big deal. What is a big deal, though, was the flicker on any attempt to dim the bulbs at all. I'm using the Lutron Maestro, LED control. I was not successful in dimming these to a low level and they flicker annoyingly even with modest dimming... so... I just can't use them in most locations. The quality of the light when dimmed is also a strange, unnatural pale light.

Great product at a great price.
I've just purchased a total of 20 of these bulbs over the course of a few days to replace the energy wasting halogens the previous owner of my house installed. I wish I had known how much of a waste of energy halogen bulbs are. To be honest I had never given it much thought until an electrician mentioned it when he was here a couple weeks ago. These bulbs now line the perimeter of my rec room (7 in total) and I must say I'm quite pleased in the results. The halogens they replaced were just a tad brighter, it seems. But that isn't a problem. I much prefer the light from these LED bulbs. These are warm WHITE light, not the sickening dull yellowish light the halogens would give off. 4 more LEDs went in the downstairs bedroom, 2 above the kitchen sink, 3 by the front door, and 3 more in the upstairs hallway. My wife and I are very happy with the results everywhere. Those on dimmers work flawlessly. Some of my dimmer switches are less than a year old and some are more than 10 years old. They are all the slider-type dimmer switch, not the rotating type. Anyways, I have had ZERO issues with the dimming ability of these bulbs. No flickering or sputtering or buzzing to speak of.Speaking of the dimming ability - unlike the halogens, these will not go completely OFF using the dimmer. I think the package said they'll drop to 10%, which is about right in my experience. Not that it makes a difference, I mean if I wanted them off I would obviously just flick the switch. I only mention this because the halogens would go completely off when the slider was only about two-thirds of the way down.I can't speak of the longevity of these bulbs. I've only been using for a few days, after all. If they are rated at 30,000 hours of use, then I should be getting almost 10 years out of them in my rec room (even longer at the other locations in my home). Anything less than 5 ears and I'll be disappointed. Anything less than 2 and I'll be contacting the seller/manufacturer for a replacement and DEFINITELY updating this review.

Look good.
The bulbs are slightly smaller and grey in colour which I had trouble finding at a store in my small community. Look good.
