Purchased several years ago at $750. They have website special on now under $800. Still haven't used the second charcoal filter sent with unit as vacuum original and degass it in the sun every few months. Just did major teardown and cleaning to remove all dust. Checked HEPA filter and knocked out few small grains of charcoal. Light passes through easily and the onboard pressure sensor has never lit. With a little routine maintenance, can prolong charcoal filter indefinitely and HEPA filter many years past their recommended replacement. Bought new UV bulbs online at very reasonable price. Remember to wear plastic gloves when cleaning unit or replacing bulbs.This unit got us through COVID. It will replace air in medium single story house every few hours with fresher, microbe free air even on low speed. The unit has distinct whine to motor. Have query into manufacturer about noise. It appears to be electrical service voltage variation sensitive for noise.

It blow pretty strong and there is a noticeable difference in air quality in the room. It definitely handles the VOCs well. Although I do not have accurate tools to measure the amount of particulates being filtered from the air effectively enough, I do have some potential anecdotal evidence to offer regarding its efficacy. I use it in a large classroom and, despite having sick students in the room who are not always the most hygienic lot, I, personally, have not contracted anything from the students that I am aware of. Of course, I wear a mask and practice some social distancing (as best as I can in a cramped classroom), I feel better having it than not. I suppose that counts for something.

I have extremely bad allergies. Could never a get a restful nights sleep because of my stuffy nose, cough itchy eyes & my cat. I’m allergic to the cat but I’m nit getting rid of her. I have all the other issues with mold, dust, etc. I’ve done the allergy shots & switched to drops for several years and was told I’m at my limit that to continue would not help me anymore. This purifier was the only thing that helped me sleep a breath easy. No more itchy eyes, sneezing coughing. The air is crisper and my cat likes to lay by it to. She smells the clean air that’s coining from it, I did not buy it from Amazon I bought it direct from company. I’m here now looking to buy another to see if it’s less expensive here.

Purchased this unit about 6 years ago and came here to see if the replacement parts ie carbon pre-filters were available yet on Amazon. Anyway, what originally caught my attention about this product was the unique design concerning the placement of the UV sterilization bulbs over the dirty side of the hospital grade HEPA filter. TRACS got it right, there is sufficient dwell time on pathogens, and, organisms cannot create "eat-through" on the filter surface, a flaw in other designs. The cabinet is attractive and built like a tank. The motor has been going for years, no problems, and, the unit is silent on the low setting. The unit does help remove odors and maintenance is straight forward. Anyone wanting a top quality air purifier should consider a TRACS.
