Greatest cosmological book ever
First, i am a commerce student. And yet I have read this book twice. And this helped me get back to Cosmology. You don't need to have any scientific background to read this. Author who is my favourite theoretical physicist. I used to watch his lectures on YouTube. And then about this. It is an end to end Cosmological study. But only thing u need to remember is that i need to study it slowly. And trust me it will give help you develop a Cosmological Dimension to you life. And since then i am an active reader on Physics and cosmology.

Superb
I loved this one. Has a good undertone of philosophical writing. Can wait for the next one with recent learnings included.

Good for reading
But the paper quality is not good. Printing is too small.

Excellent, Mind Blowing book
This is the one of the best book I have read on space and time. Everyone must read it in lifetime to know the glimpses of reality.

Not the usual Brian Greene book.
I am a big fan. I have read all his books and always booking for his new book. Even on YouTube and other social media I follow him . I love the lucidity and the elegancy with which he simplifies the most complex problems. He makes physics as if a thriller book subject. But this is a totally different book from previous one . It is more dense with philosophical musings and becomes overbearing sometimes. Those who love science hate complex mundane philosophy. Atleast I do. Also if you read books on evolution and other aspects of human development there is nothing new here. I am really sad to write this review.

This is a amazing and important book, well written and documented.
For anyone interested in Cosmology and the implications of modern physics, this is a must read. It is, in my mind, an important book that offers a clear understanding, given knowledge to date, of how it all developed and where it is all going. With that said, the book fails to emphasize the importance of TRANFORMATIONS in reality, although perhaps the author feels that the reader will automatically recognize these differences in “levels.” There are transformations from inanimate to living, from atoms to molecules to complex objects, from simpler life forms to conscious beings to community. To me, the author does an amazing job of describing those changes but does not highlight the significant change in the NATURE and QUALITY from one level to the next. Calling it all jiggling bundles of particles may be shortchanging reality. It seems important to sit in awe in recognition of these amazing transitions. The author also does not recognize the possibility of future findings that would be consistent with current understandings. There may exist an underlying, invisible, fabric, ground or field of connected energy throughout all of space/time, invisible like dark matter and gravitational waves. This "ground of being," so named by Paul Tillich, a Theologian, might connect all things into Oneness, including us as living beings and as disorganized particles that serve as fodder for insects after the time of death, uniting the singularity at the time of the Big Bang as well as our current organized universe. To me, it is important to recognize and celebrate the oneness of all things, originally a principle of Eastern religions, but seemingly consistent with the findings of modern physics. This idea does provide some meaning or context to life, implies an ethic, and suggests an immortality of sorts, connections unrecognized in the book.

Dawkins meets Hitchens (and Hawking and Darwin)
It's impossible not to like Brian Greene. He writes very well, he is a superb scientist and he's appeared in The Big Bang Theory. More importantly, he likes to share the wonders of nature with all of us who are ready, and wise enough, to pay much attention to what he has to say and write. His previous books were about physics (mostly) and were enjoyable, all of them. But this one is even better, more ambitious; it's about life and time. No less. And it might very well be one of the more important books anyone could read, because it's a try on the theory of everything, something only a prime scientist and writer can attempt. It's not an easy one, granted. But with some patience (and a good bookmark to keep the long notes section easily accessible) it pays back loads. Upon finishing its almost 400 pages the reader - any reader - will feel better, because he or she now understands things - all the things - better. Yes, it's that good and that deep. But do not worry. Even if it's that long and intense, the author alleviates the road as much as he can. It helps that he is passionate about what he writes about and that enthusiasm reaches the reader. Also, the pages are filled with examples and quotes by, say, Shakespeare and Beethoven, as well as by Lennon and Camus.Buy and read it. It's been included in many lists about "how to get wiser", or "how to understand the universe better". And deservedly so. You will not suddenly become intelligent, granted; but you will be more intelligent than you were before reading it.
