iPhone 5S Battery Case, iPhone 5 Battery Case - Maxboost Atomic S Portable Charger for iPhone 5/5S [MFI Certified] External Protective 2400mAh Battery Charging Juice Power Bank [Glossy White/Pink]

This is one of the slimmer and trimmer iPhone 5s battery cases I've had the opportunity to evaluate. It adds very little overall bulk. This was important to me because I didn't want to take too much away from the look of my 5s. In my video review, I show its features and how it operates.This battery case, unlike many, is actually MFi certified. This means that it has gained certification by Apple, to work with all future updates to the iOS. If you have a battery case that is not MFi, you are not guaranteed that it will work with future updates. I have made that mistake before with other non-MFi products.It also has "Sync-Through Technology". This means I can leave my phone in the battery case, while plugged into my PC, and it will still sync to my PC/iTunes. Most battery cases cannot do this, so this was a really big plus.Overall, I really like this black case and I'll get a lot of use from it. With the 2400mAh battery, I'll get over an extra full charge to my iPhone before needing to recharge the case again. When I have the case plugged in to charge, my iPhone will be charged first and then the case will be charged 2nd.I received a review sample for test and evaluation.

I had this case for 6 months and I absolutely loved it, now in the past month or so, the case is no longer holding it's charge the way it used to, I'm constantly plugging it in and it not charging or a message on my phone pops up that " this device is not compatible". I really did love this product and told everyone about how awesome it was. Now I'm telling them not to waste their money.EDIT:I want to add that this company has great customer service. After I posted this review I was contacted by company. When they verified my purchases ( I had bought a case for myself and my gf) and they were still under warranty. They sent 2 new cases with jn a week! And provided prepaid packaging to send back old cases.

Over the years, I have bought many, many items from Amazon and have been quite satisfied. However, this is my very absolute FAVORITE!! I tend to use my iPhone 5S quite a bit and found myself needing to charge it frequently. However, since I purchased the Maxboost Atomic S case/battery, I have never had even the slightest challenge when it comes to battery power for my phone. And as an unexpected bonus, I now have a protective case that is far superior to the one I had before! Many times I have found myself getting ready to leave and suddenly discovering my phone was only 20-30% charged. However, if that happens now, I can just go about my plans by allowing the case to charge the phone and things are all good. There's even power to spare in the case after it has charged the phone! This is one item I believe EVERYONE who owns a smartphone DEFINATELY SHOULD HAVE!! I bought one for my wife and we wll never be without one again. Definately a great idea for a power outage or extended outdoor trip.

Update: Bought a second one 25 Sep 2016, it stopped working last night, 18 Mar 2017. Not quite 6 months. Used it the same way as the first one. Time for a downgrade on the stars. Will be checking up on manufacturer's warranty.I bought this 11 months ago, used it continuously ever since, and it has performed admirably.I typically run my iPhone5s battery down to 20% or less several times per week, and having the MaxBoost has saved the day numerous times. Since it basically serves as a case for the phone, I never have to go look for it, and as a case, it has protected the phone several times when I have dropped it. I've not tracked the actual recharge time, but it is quick enough that I don't feel I have to -- just press the button on the back and it pumps the phone battery up in short order.The battery is nice and flat, tapered at the ends to give it a less brick-like feel, and overall it is a very sleek package, looks very professional. It does make the phone about twice as thick, and is obviously heavier, so it's a bit much for putting in a shirt pocket. However, I usually put in my back pants pocket or a cargo pocket anyway.It is a big plus that while the whole deal can be recharged while phone is inserted in to the battery/case. Yet another plus is that the Maxboost uses a standard USB cable with a micro-USB connection on one end -- those are a lot more rugged and less expensive than the Apple charging cords with the proprietary connector. I am still using the original charging cable that came with it in my car (since it is quite short), and I bought 3 or 4 foot cable to use at home, which is still in use as well. I able to use those same cables to recharge my Kindle, my wife's Kindle Fire, and a couple other widgets, so it's nice not to have to have different cables for everything.The back has a little leg that folds out meant to prop up the phone in landscape mode. The leg feels a bit flimsy, but I seldom use the phone that way, so no big deal to me. I do wish it had a built-in way to prop it up in portrait mode -- that would be a really useful feature to me.The unit comes in two parts (plus the power cord): the battery back piece, which the phone plugs into, and a frame-like piece around the edges of the phone that snaps into the battery back piece. As I noted earlier, I have dropped this a few times without damage to the phone or the battery, and in fact there are hardly any wear or scuff marks on it at all. The frame part has had a couple pieces chip out of an inside corner. I can't rate this as a negative, after all I did drop it. some times when dropped the battery and frame have separated -- this probably absorbs some of the energy and prevents further damage to them or the phone.Overall I am really glad I got the Maxboost, and whenever I upgrade the phone I will be looking for a Maxboost to go with it.

The kickstand broke after being used 2x. The design is flawed with no access to the headphone jack without the special adapter "included" and no access to the native charging...
