Fantastic!
Fantastic book! It almost works as a time traveller. Taking you back on a beautiful nostalgic journey. I had gifted it to my daughter who is just 7 years and she could bake and cook from this cookbook with ease. It's just so perfect!

Nostalgic
Took me back to my childhood. But many ingredients are difficult to find in India

Disappointed. Enid Blyton recipes deserve more than this
Being a hard-cover Enid Blyton fan I pre-ordered this book. If you are one too, I suggest you rather rely on the magical memories and come up with a recipe yourself. Somehow the book just kills it for you. Also the illustrations are so Quentin Blake which again gives it a half baked, half hearted attempt feel to it. Disappointed. Enid Blyton recipes deserve more than this.

Jolly Good Food

Brilliant book. Well written. Recipes easy to follow
This really is a brilliant book. The stories are so new for my grandchildren (nostalgic for me!) and the recipes are well written and easy for the children (and me😁) to follow. Really pleased with this purchase.

This isn't bad. But a little disappointing
This isn't bad. But a little disappointing. When people talk about the Enid Blyton books of their childhood, almost without question, everyone talks about the food! A lot of writing has been done on the food mentioned in Enid Blyton's books! And everyone could list off their favourites.Does anyone remember smoothies featuring in her books? No? Me neither. Nor "rainbow veggie skewers" or pop cakes. Of course, a lot of the food mentioned in her books was simple things like ham sandwiches, tomato sandwiches, etc. which don't need recipes. And some simply wouldn't go down to well these days, like pressed tongue or potted meat. There ARE however lovely recipes for Ginger Beer (lashings thereof), lemonade, gingerbread, jam tarts, sausage rolls, jam sponge, treacle tart, scotch eggs, and others. And it's a children's cookbook, so nothing is too difficult. So, all in all, a little disappointing, but definitely worth it for the recipes that are there. Just keep in mind those words on the cover "inspired by" the stories of Enid Blyton, and don't expect faithful reproductions of recipes of the period.
