A well researched publication with excellent photos of the evolution of the tank truck in the fire service from home made and second hand oil and milk tankers to the custom built tenders of today. The text preceding each chapter offers good details on the various types of fire service tankers over the years. Highly recommended!

Really out-dated, unfortunately. I'm a volunteer in my fire district, and the older, more seasoned volunteers are the ones driving the water tenders because they're the apparatus that are statistically the most dangerous. So you might say that we're tender 'fanboys' - but this book is so seriously outdated that it just isn't very interesting. Wish it was better.-Tom

I really enjoyed this book. The variety of the vehicles and how each one was configured was very interesting. This book more than met my expectations.
