Great unit, second Keystone
Had my previous Keystone running in the garage round the clock, and it did a great job for 10 years. Just recently gave up, so I've replaced it with this one. Great unit, hoping it will last like the previous.

so far, so good.
This dehumidifier has maintained the humidity level in my basement between 58% and 60% (independently measured) since it was set up. It does have a relatively small collection bin, but I use the continuous drain connection. Contrary to other reviews, you can use a standard garden hose, once you install the adapter. This adapter could have easily been designed better - as it is the adapter is a piece of flexible tubing with a male hose connector at one end. The flexible end is pushed over the internal hard plastic internal drain pipe. You then are supposed to affix the hose connector to the body of the dehumidifier with two little screws. You need this last step to prevent the tubing from being pulled off the internal drain pipe. All of this could have been simplified by using a rigid plastic adapter that screwed onto a threaded internal drain pipe. Oh well.Other reviewers indicated that the fan runs continuously - certainly mine does NOT, nor does the manual suggest that it should. One last nit (hopefully a nit). the warranty registration card, which is pre-addressed, was returned to me by the post office with the notation that the 1-year forwarding address period had run out, so they would not forward it. This means that the registration card address is more than 1 year out of date. I hope I do not need to use the warranty!!! [As a side note, this dehumidifier replaces a Frigidaire, which in turn replaced another Frigidaire, both of which failed...but were "bought back" by Frigidaire because they were "unrepairable", meaning the cost of repair was higher than just buying it back. Hope I don't need to contact Keystone for similar issues!!]

Quiet and sleek
Product came earlier than expected and was well packaged. It operates more quietly than the other two dehumidifiers I’ve had and is more visually appealing as well (for a dehumidifier). I’d like to replace my other units with this one. Would recommend.

Works well but small tank makes it inefficient for high humidity areas
Do not buy this item if you live in a high humidity area. The dehumidifier works well, but the tank only holds 0.8 gallons of water. I live in South Florida, and I find myself having to empty the tank every 2.5 hours. I use it in a bedroom, so I cannot use the continuous drain feature. My previous dehumidifier was also from Keystone, but its tank capacity was double the size of this smaller model (KSTAD224D). I wish I had spent a little more money and gotten a dehumidifier with a bigger tank. This smaller model may be okay for small rooms in locales that don’t have too much humidity, but I think you need a model with a bigger tank for high humidity areas.Incidentally, the previous Keystone model that I owned lasted six years. Then the power button stopped working. I called the Keystone company customer service to ask about getting the control panel replaced. They told me that you cannot buy parts for their dehumidifiers. When they stop working, you just have to replace them. I guess I cannot complain too much because I did get six years of service out of it.

One of the best on the market
I have used this brand for 7 years and have several of this size for our large house in the South where humidity is a big issue. This Keystone reduces moisture in the air within 15 minutes and fills up quickly covering a large area. Just shut the door to the room for faster effectiveness. The buttons are easy to operate, and the filter and water bin are easy to clean. Hint, I used a foam bleach in the catch bin every once in a while because it gets scummy catching things from the air, a good thing. I have cleaned it this way for 7 years without anything falling apart. I just don't put the bleach on the styrofoam "thingamajig" so it does not deteriorate. But regular detergents just don't work. Use a brush with a long neck. Gets rid of musty smells, too. I don't know why Consumer Reports doesn't even review this brand as I believe it should be their recommended brand. Worth every penny and they are still chugging along. Of course they are a little noisy, but there are two speeds with the lower one less noisy. But they have a timer you can shut it down with easily after awhile which we do at night.

Unbelievably awesome customer service
We’ve had the dehumidifier for over a year and it stopped working. I called Keystone in order to get a copy of their warranty so I could submit a claim under my credit card’s extended warranty, and they just sent me a new one even though it was out of warranty and I didn’t even ask them to. I had a replacement the next day. Kaitlyn was amazing. I have 3 of these humidifiers (that I’ve had for several years), this is the first one that gave me trouble and they took care of it right away. This was customer service the way it used to be.
