Need less humidity?
I am just going to list the pros and cons. Hopeully this will help. Based on my limited use, I would buy it again and recommend it.ProsThe 50 pint is the size of a typical kitchen garbage can.Hygrometer apears accurate when it has reached its target. The numbers keep changing so my best guess is there is some software interpreting what the level is.Heats up a room 0.5 to 3 degrees71 decibals around the sound of a window ac.Shipped well. Return shipping will need to be brought to the ups store so I wouldn't recommend an amazon warehouse purchase.Fan turns off when target reached on non continuous.Energy star ratedGrounded outlet.5 ft cord. A longer cord would have been nice.Well shielded unit.Has restart feature that will restart the unit if the power goes off. Good for those with smart homes or using a plug in timer.ConWhen removing the water tray there is about an ounce of water that falls to the floor. This is included as part of the directions so I'm guessing it is a common occurence. When using the unit on the turbo setting, the water moves to the top of the tray avoiding the floor (when used with a timer and allowed to sit for an hour before the tray is removed).

Works great, Long life
Bought this December 28th of 2018, and it is still going strong. (Currently April 15, 2020)TL;DR: Works great, long life, minor white noise level operating sound, easy to use, dump often, and vacuum, or rinse, the mesh filter regularly. *thumbs up* I occasionally vacuum the mesh filter which collects a surprising amount of dust and cat fluff ( 2 cats ). When I first moved into my apartment it was noticeably muggy. It is a new construction and had probably been sitting empty at 75°F for a week or so before I moved in. (Florida)I have 2 magnetic RH readers and this apartment gets upwards of 60-75%RH when I'm gone for a few days of business travel. After a day of running it/starting it back up the RH will usually make it down around 43-50%RH which is comfortable with a 73°F indoor temperature and two ceiling fans running consistently. My apartment is completely open, studio/suite style 700-750sq.ft. for reference. I occasionally rotate it from the living room to the bathroom since that area is prone to holding more moisture. I have not had any issues with spillage, unless being clumsy... One of my cats enjoys changing the settings and so we constantly fight over the ideal level of RH in the apartment.

Informative reviews leads to knowledge. Thank you Amazon reviewers!
We were 1st time home buyers 5 years ago of a 100+ year old house and bought a dehumidifier because that's what you do. This past year the (unfinished, rock and concrete) basement was hot and damp. Time for an additional dehumidifier? So I went to Amazon for the latest info on these machines. I read both good and not-so-good reviews. Thinking all dehumidifiers are the same I was shocked and thrilled to see there were better ones out there. Also dismayed to find ours was a 25 pint! It ran constantly, especially this year with all the rain and high humidity. The heat it put out was definitely the cause for the heat in the basement.I set our new 70 pint on 35 (the lowest setting as it turned out). Just like the videos, the sound is minimal even with the fan on high/turbo. We have no way to drain. We don't care at all. Emptying that larger tank 3 times a day after walking down to a drier, fairly mild temperature basement is worth it. Some reviewers said this model went kaput after 2 weeks so I'm keeping the box just in case.I figure pretty soon it'll stop running so much and our electric bill may reflect that. I feel very confident with this dehumidifier, so much so, if it did konk out in 2 weeks, I'd just exchange it. Thank you Amazon reviewers!

Works like a charm.
This machine works fantastic for removing humidity from the air. Not too loud, easy to move around. I also own a Frigidaire 70 pint and this unit seems to be the fastest at dropping the relative humidity. One drawback is the tub that catches the water. No matter how you dump it, you always manage to spill water somewhere. It has small side lips that manage to surprise you with a little extra water just when you think it is empty. Using the drain tube/hose eliminates this problem.

Flawless performance for over a year, even better when used with a smart plug
This unit does a great job lowering the humidity in our home. It's not that loud, however I am a light sleeper so I can't have it on in the middle of the night. It does have a timer function, however it needs to be set every time. I found a nice work around for this by turning it into a smart device by connecting it to a Wemo smart plug so I can schedule when it's operating. This smart upgrade was made even better by using a fabric extension cord with surge protection (see photo).I love smart plugs, especially Wemo brand since they are reliable, the app is great and they look good, however I am really picky with cable management and always try to use flat plugs and hiding cords whenever it's possible.
